Craving Lately: Summer Staples

black dress, embroidered clutch, gladiator sandals for summer

When the temps warming up, I want easy pieces for Summer. A slinky, flirty dress is something that floats away from the body yet looks put together. I'm loving the lace detail and cute hem on this one. How can a girl resist some fun color like with a boho style clutch? It will take the simplest outfit up a notch! Now, let's talk about these lace-up sandals. Yeah, my heart started racing the second I laid eyes on them! Some love heels, but I have a mad obsession with sandals. I'm thinking these would be the perfect early birthday present. What pieces are you adding to your Summer wardrobe?

Happy Friday! Hope you have a nice weekend! xo

White Shirt

Finding the right white shirt is so so worth it! For this girl that has a relaxed look, the thought of a white shirt can sound stuffy and very corporate. Actually, it takes me back to elementary-Catholic school uniform. But finding a cut that works for your style is where it's at. I spotted this white shirt at Zara and couldn't stop thinking about it. Came back the next day and found myself the proud owner of a white shirt. The over-sized fit and short sleeves make it effortless. It also felt right to pop on some red lipstick!

Hope you're having a great week! xo

Keep, Toss, or Swap

I'm so excited to share these photos of a project that my super talented friend Marissa and I put together last month. Not only does the woman have major photography skills (just check out her feed), but is always welcoming her doors to her Bourbon and Goose Studio at the Unique Space. Combining our skills, we held a workshop called Keep, Toss, or Swap. There was mimosas and scones to start, styling tips and tricks,  picture taking, and mingling.

Getting these ladies picture perfect after we put together a few looks from the clothes they brought. They both wanted to get a set of professional pictures for their social media and websites.
Having a little fun in front of the camera too!

The Unique Space has so many cute walls with the best wallpaper and make for great backdrops. Our favorite was this gold spotted one!
As you can tell, there was a lot of fun going on in the process! The ladies got a new insight on some of the items they brought from their closet, fun yet professional images, and a some cloth swapping.

Keep your eye's peeled! Marissa and I are working on the next one and would love to have you there!

Happy Wednesday! xo

Easy Neutrals

Another gloomy day, another chance to enjoy some Fall favorites, but a day that I will always hold special in my heart. A year ago was the day my favorite guy packed his bags and moved back home. It was a day I hoped and dreamed of for 3 very long years. It meant plane rides would be replaced by quick car drives. It meant long teary good byes would now become see you tomorrow. It meant desert excursions would now become picnics on the beach. This year of togetherness has gone by in a blink of an eye and has my heart smiling so big.

Now on a fashion note, my moto jacket is my go-to for chilly days and keeping it simple with other neutrals will always work. Adding in a pop of color with an accessory is an easy way to take it to the next level and gives your look a nice surprise.

Happy Tuesday! xo

Oh California, you're so funny! One week it's blazing hot. Next week it's gloomy and chilly. But you know what? I love this chance to layer up without looking foolish. And you know, I've really missed this plaid flannel. So thanks for the cooler weather!

Happy Memorial! Hope you are enjoying the day off!

Craving Lately

summer wardrobe for women
1, 2, 3, 4
Well, well this weeks cravings have no particular theme. Let's blame that on all the crazy Memorial sales. You don't even want to see how massive my Nordstom cart is. But those leopard sandals and Free People pants are under $50! Maybe I won't be eating for a couple weeks because let's just say I've picked up many of these featured here. It would be a sin to pass up a steal, riiight?

Are you hitting up the sales this weekend? Happy long weekend!

Accessorizing for Work

One of the best parts about being a personal stylist, is going through a gal's closet and showing her how much potential is already inside there. Every gal has her own challenges and one that many miss is accessorizing. Even though today's client didn't have a big collection of jewelry, we focused on just one necklace and figuring out ways to make it work for that 9-5. She's a spunky little lady that loves art and wanted to bring that out in some fun appropriate work outfits.

Working with the same necklace, I showed her different ways to incorporate it. The yellow adds a fun punch of color that can be used to add contract or compliment the yellow in the print. Overall, she was given more confidence in adding color and pairing jewelry with her work ensembles and left a happy stylist:)

Happy Hump Day!

Beach Girl

If there's one thing I can never say no to is a good sunny day with my toes in the sand and the smell of salt water and my favorite guy (someone's gotta take these pictures. jk he's cute and stuff). While the water at California beaches is freezing cold, I usually stick to a cute dress and sometimes a jacket. I really can't handle sudden brisk breezes. This white dress from Eshakti was the perfect dress for our day trip to the beach. The embroidery on it really makes it so special. Since we knew we would be walking around, a jean jacket is not only good for cold breezes but looking more polished going into shops and brunching. This dress was my first experience with Eshakti and I have say I love the fact that you can customize it to fit the way you like at no extra cost. It fits perfectly and for a gal who usually needs straps shortened and a little taken in at the bust, I couldn't be happier!

Work to Weekend

With the weather heating up, I've started to think of ways to transition my looks for work (aka client meetings) into weekend (aka in between meetings). While I love wearing a great flowy summer dress (this beauty is a TJ Max find!) alone, they're not the best way to look professional.
Dressing up a summer dress for work is all about finding light pieces to throw on and flats or if you prefer heels. While I love blazers, I realize they are heavier and usually leave me melting and sticky by the time I leave the house. But this cotton utility jacket is much lighter and breathable. Depending on your work dress code, vests are great options too.

Now using the same dress, it's time to grab your sandals for the weekend! For me, this is a look I wear in between meetings during the week too. Often the warm weather has a gal wanting the least amount of effort in dressing, but don't forget the jewelry! Small dainty necklaces in gold are my go-to. They go with everything and easy peezy!

Craving Lately: One Piece Swimsuits

cute one piece swimsuits
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
It's been a hot, hot week here and the only thing sounding good is a cold drink and a pool. So I think it's time to get a great swimsuit. Lately, I've been gravitating toward one pieces. Personally, I love a swimsuit with some coverage. With all these fun prints and cuts, it's going to be hard to pick. Maybe #2 or #3 or both;) How do you feel about one piece swimsuits?

Also, I'm co-hosting Friday Fab with Lauren! Would love you to join!

Summer Vibes

Alright ladies, LA is totally being punished for having such great weather during all those winter vortex months. Major heat wave happening (100+ degrees!) and where's a girl to go to beat the heat? She goes shopping! Well I blame it on my mom. She decided to go shopping without me and then has a fashion emergency. So of course I'm not going to leave her hanging-her personal stylist to the rescue! The fun part about helping her is that I can actually pick out things for myself too. Hellooo, perfectly oversized chambray!

Thanks so much for reading! xo
