Black Jumpsuit

You guys, can you tell I had such a great time this weekend? Honestly, most of these pictures were of me laughing and really that's what was happening just about all weekend on our girls trip or as the bride-to-be would call it 'bridesmaid bootcamp'. There really wasn't anything bootcamp unless a long hike is considered training. However, I came across this black jumpsuit (under $45) at the last second (literally hours before we left) and so glad I did. It was perfect for our wine tasting stop at Bernardo Winery. It had everything from cute bench swings to a chocolate shop, oh and wine of course. I've already had two girl weekends this month and I'm craving another one.

Hope you have a great Tuesday! xo

Casual Black and White

Sometimes you have one of the most memorable weekends and totally realize how memorable it is after it's over. But it's definitely a feeling of complete thankfulness that it happened. The first of my girlfriends is getting married in two weeks, so we had to have a girl's weekend (aka bridesmaid bootcamp). Yes, I'm one of her bridesmaids and so darn excited to be a bridesmaid! So we headed down near San Diego and stayed in a house through Air BNB. From hiking to wine tasting, we did it all and have so much to laugh about. There really isn't anything better than great girlfriends!

On another note, I've had this tribal print top since last year and has been a go-to! Not sure why it never made it on the blog, but it's available again this season and I'm thinking I should get the black version too!

Hope you had a nice weekend! xo

Little Red Dress

In case you haven't noticed (let's pretend you haven't), I pretty much pair these Vince espadrilles and panama hat with evverrythang! Clearly, my cost per wear is like pennies at this point. Totally not mad about that! But this little shift dress(love this!) was picked up before summer and last worn here with Kacie. The red definitely packs a punch and was something completely out of my comfort zone initially, but I knew over time I could get past it. You can expect to see it in the cooler months with booties and my moto jacket, which are equivalent to my espadrilles and panama hat for fall.

Happy Hump Day! xo

Easy Florals

Yesterday was one of those nice Mondays, you know the one's that you don't work and get to go out to brunch and then see your favorite guy for lunch. I really think I could make brunching my career. Anyone want to hire me as a professional bruncher? Anyway, it was with the sweet and funny Jessica of Jeans and a Teacup. There was huge pancakes involved, so you know it was a winner. While this is our second meet-up and just as good a the first, these pictures were snapped from our first meet-up a few weeks back during the insane heatwave. And during a heatwave in September you pretty much reach for things at the bottom of your closet that haven't surfaced in years. It's almost as good as getting new clothes.

Hope you're off to a great week! xo

Falling into Leather

LA finally got the message that it's September and it's time to end the 100 degree weather! So maybe it's still technically warm out, but 80 degrees is so blissful. The first thing I did was pull out these leather shorts to celebrate. Oh and that's Dusky up there. I'm sure you're probably wondering what's up with that dog. I was doing my aunt duties and watching him for the night. Turns out he's totally into this blogging thing and like a pro just stood right by me for a good minute while the camera snapped away.

Hope you had a nice weekend! xo

Romping in Venice

Clearly I'm obsessed with rompers and now that I think of it specifically floral rompers. I mean I did wear one on the blog this week, which I actually bought while I was wearing this Free People romper. No shame. But it was scorching oven hot this day and rompers are my go-to since clothes are not optional and you have your Costa Rican friend visiting. And you know my style tip about putting a cami under your romper so you're not sitting half naked in the restroom? Well I pretty much tossed that out the second it's over a 100 degrees. We did get some relief by heading to Venice which included smoothies, heavenly pizza at Gjelina, and ice cream that was free.

Thanks for stopping by! xo

Wine Tasting We Will Go!

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, my favorite Costa Rican came to visit after 5 years! This girl is a globe trotter so I had to make sure I showed her SoCal is where it's at in 3 short days. So I had told her about Santa Barbara and nearby wine country and she was game. Turns out she's never been wine tasting-oh the pressure was on!

We started in Los Olivos for wine tasting with cupcakes at Saarloose and Sons. Really the star was the cupcakes from Enjoy, but it's always a fun experience.
Next was across to Refugio Ranch, which does an amazing job with the wines and makes you feel right at home. I also would recommend coming in pairs so you can share tastings or you'll get real tipsy real fast.

And more wine at one the hidden gem Bell Street Farms in Los Alamos. If you are doing wine tasting near Solvang or Los Olivos, make sure to eat and grab a glass there. Jaime, the owner, is AMAZING! He'll help pick out the best wine and the food is farm fresh. Plus, he made sure to leave us with a hug.

Last stop was a new stop for me at Martian Winery. It's out on a dirt road that really has you questioning if you are on the right path. The wines were too good! Possibly the best we tried all day! Oh gosh, now I want to go wine tasting again! Anyone want to go?

Happy Wednesday! xo

Romper Love

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I know, I know it's Tuesday. But after playing tour guide to my sweet Costa Rican friend and getting a day of rest I'm getting back into the swing of things. It was non-stop go go go since Thursday evening till Sunday. From Downtown LA to Santa Barbara, we took in the sites literally one bite at a time. It also happened to be like thee hottest weekend. And that meant trying ice cream after ice cream. No complaints there. One of our stops was to Venice mainly for Gjelina (a must if you're in LA) and I found this floral romper at LF during their massive sale. Let's just say I haven't taken this number off during this heat wave!

Happy Tuesday! xo

Date Night in Floral

LA you sure are a funny city that at times makes me want to pull my hair out-I'm looking at you traffic. But not this night-nope! I fell back in love with this city on this perfect date at Vista Hermosa Park (that translates to Beautiful View which the boyfriend informed me). It's right down the street from Echo Park, but this park is like a hidden gem. It's the perfect escape nestled away from the hustle and bustle with lush green grass for the ultimate picnic and a beautiful view of downtown LA. So where are those beautiful views of the LA skyline you ask? Well all the good spots were either taken and we might possibly have started shooting pictures too late. You can get a little bit of a view here. But we have every intention of another date night here with a picnic in tow.

P.s. I chopped a little off my hair finally. Is it noticeable? I feel like I'm less blonde not that I was ever blonde. Definitely feels so much more healthier!

Thanks so much for reading!
