Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #6

Le Motto tshirt c/o // utility vest // AE boyfriend shorts // floral flats (leopard or stripe under $30) // reversible tote

Happy Friday! This week has been a looong one for some reason. And since I've been a little behind on outfit photos I thought I would save the best (aka my only outfit photos) for the best day of the week. Last weekend we went to Santa Barbara (yes this is what I wore), which is about 2 hours north of LA and my favorite place to escape for the day. Honestly, if you ever are planning a trip to LA, make some room for Santa Barbara because it's so charming with all it's Spanish style architecture and hello the beach. We had to pick up the boyfriend's nephew and we made sure to have some time to hit all our favorite spots. Basically I was eating or drinking the entire time. I'm perfectly okay with that! We tried really hard to find a spot with that charming architecture, but it was too sunny. There is an industrial part that is the wine ghetto and lucky enough was able to find a good spot in between lunch and wine sipping.

Anyway, I am rambling, but you get it Santa Barbara is amazing and you should go someday. Okay, now this graphic tee. It's so cozy and who doesn't love a good positive message! Yeah, I'm a quote junkie. You can't tell, but it's the right cut with a little slouch and nice open neck. Honestly, I've worn this tshirt several times this week. If you are looking for a nice graphic tshirt and feel good message, I couldn't recommend this shirt or others from Le Motto

Now, it's time to flashback with Jessica and I for our linkup. It's really funny but every week I rediscover what's in my closet. Last year, I was wearing this embroidered dress and definitely plan on wearing it over the weekend.

My Summer Favorites Under $40

blue floral romper (picked my normal size)
It's true I play favorites especially when it comes to my wardrobe. This summer though I keep reaching for these three beauties and the best part is that they are back in stock. Naturally, I just had to let you know. Did I mention they are under $40?
This embroidered top is just too pretty and right on trend with the cold shoulder detail.

This long pendant necklace was on my must have list the second I saw it at the product review at work. The stone is a soft pink and really well made. The pictures don't do it justice! Oh, and it goes with everrrything.

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #5

If you know me, then you know how much I looovvve a good print! It's summer and let's be real how sticky things can get. So the second I saw this blue printed dress, I knew I had to at least try it on. It was the last one and clearly it was meant for me. I've worn it 3 times in the past week. It's like your not wearing anything and that's perfectly fine by me. And if you can't tell but I'm obsessed with wide brim hats and my cognac tote. They just go with everything, if you ask me.

And because it's Friday, it's time to take a look at last year's look, which included a floral printed romper. I seriously forgot about that romper and now I need to pull it out. You can see the full post here. We were visiting Tucson for a spontaneous wedding. Can't believe that was a year ago!
Now it's your turn to join Jessica and I in the linkup! We can't thank you enough for linking up with each week!

The Summer of Shoulders

Here's the thing. I'm obsessed to say the least with anything off the shoulder. I'm constantly looking for anything and everything off the shoulder. I'm pretty sure it's a boarder line problem. So you know when I saw this blue off the shoulder top I knew I had to have it. It actually combines my other love-embroidery. It really makes me feel like I'm on vacation. It also comes in cream and I might just have to get it too.

Anyway, these are my favorite jeans ever. They currently are part of the Nordstrom sale and they fit so well. I don't think I've had other jeans fit like they were meant specifically for me. I had to pick up another pair and also these jeans. Definitely worth stocking up on!

Summer Vibes

Happy Monday! Yesterday, we got back from our quick trip to Vegas for a proposal. The boyfriend's brother planned out the proposal to include practically his whole family. Everyone wore a different letter t-shirt to spell out 'Will you marry me?' and I took the pictures. I was feeling the pressure to make sure I caught the moment and I'm happy to say I did! Oh, and she said yes! I snapchatted a lot of it and I guess you can say I'm a new convert to all the hype of Snapchat. You can find me under Adri Lately. Being that it was such a quick (less than 24 hour trip), it was so easy to Snapchat everything.

P.s. If you are looking for a great wide brim hat at a steal, this hat is AMAZING! I found it at my local Free People, but was able to find it online for even less than I paid.

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #4

See tutorial here (it's my creative way to get pretty beachy waves the lazy girl way)

High five! We made it to Friday! While I would like to relax, we're actually headed to Vegas to be apart of fun proposal. The boyfriend's brother is going to pop the question and guess who's taking the pictures? Yup, me! Talk about pressure. Anyway, we are only going for less than 24 hours so it's going to be a whirlwind. I really don't need to pack much, but I haven't packed a thing and I am trying to fight the urge to pack like 5 outfits. I'm thinking I should just pack this embroidered dress that I got on the sale rack from Anthro last year. I was so excited to get it, but it was a little big and I never wore it till now with a belt. I have been obsessed with embroidered dresses and tops this summer. Um I just got this pretty dress that I couldn't say no to. #sorrynotsorry

Again, Jessica and I are having our weekly linkup and get so excited to see you all joining the fun! Our whole goal is to see how or if our style has changed from a year. Take a look at my outfit from last year, which happens to be one of my favorite shoots ever! That mural steals my heart!

Nordstrom Sale Favorites

There's definitely a love hate relationship with this sale. I mean the best four letter word has to be sale, so that's the love part. But I mean it's like 90 degrees outside and the very last thing I want to buy are clothes for Fall. Also, I am not ready for Summer to end. However, I managed to scroll through when the A/C was on full blast and really could have used a sweater. The rational part of me knows that this is best time to pick up staples like my favorite jeans, which never really go on sale. Most of the things that caught my eye are pieces that I used so much last Fall and need to be replaced like cute flats, grey jeans, and boots. If you're anything like me, though, you have to throw in something fun like a statement coat (heck, yeah, under $50!).

As you might know, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is for cardholders right now (only 2 days till it's open to the public), but have you picked up anything yet? I want to see!

3 Braided Bun Updo

I really wish I could say I was one of those gals that loves styling their hair in the Summer. Do they really exist? Because in my house curling irons and blow dryers are basically a dirty four letter word during these scorching hot days.  Anyway if you're looking for a lazy girl hairstyle that looks cute, keeps you cool, and gives you pretty waves, then you must try this 3 braided bun updo. The best part is that it actually works really well with wet hair in case you want to sleep in it or have no time to blow dry air dry your hair.
You need:
3 plastic rubber bands
6-10 bobby pins

1. Grab a third of your hair for the first braided bun. I pulled the hair back leaving no part.
2. Doing a 3 stranded braid, braid the section of hair directly in the back middle. No need to be perfect. Tie off with rubber band.
3. Take the braid and wrap it in a bun.
4. Secure the bun with bobby pins.
5. Grab half the remaining loose hair and braid.
6. Take the second braid and wrap in a bun shape.
7. Secure braid with bobby pins.
8. Take the remaining hair and create the last braid.
9. Wrap braid into a bun and secure with bobby pins.
And DONE!

Pretty hair in under 10 minutes and then you have nice wavy hair the next day. #twofer

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #3

Romper (gift from my sister) // reversible tote // ray ban aviators
Well hellllo Friday! If sunflowers and lemonade don't scream happy Friday, I don't know what does! And Lemonade (the cafe) is so good! If you're in the LA area, it's a good quick stop for a bite and lemonade of course. Anyway, besides having something refreshing to drink, rompers are great for an easy outfit. My sister picked this one up for me as a birthday gift and I might have worn it a few days in a row. It's like wearing pj's! You've probably have seen that tote a lot in the blogsphere and for good reason. It's so durable, fits tons, and goes with everrrythang! Just be careful because you might knock over your lemonade with it. Okay, that's just me. At least, they were nice and refilled it free of charge. #happycluts

Oh, and you know what today is? I know I only said Friday like a few times. But it's our Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup! Jessica and I love see all you that have linked up and hope you join in today! In case it's your first time linking up, we take a look at our current style and look back a year (or 6 months, a month, etc) to see how our style has evolved.

Here's my look from last year and I think I need to dig up these pieces because I accidentally forgot I even had these!
