Goodbye September

I'm doing things a little different today. While I tend to keep things light-hearted around here and will continue to do so, this goodbye to September is a bit of a hopeful therapeutic outlet mainly for myself. Because I'll be honest September has been one of the hardest months. It's tested me in many ways that just left me in a funk and not liking the person all these events were making me become. I was giving power to all these bad things and wondering when in the world was I going to get a break. First it was my bank card getting compromised and closed, same day my car battery died, then it was food poisoning, and the day after having my car hit by a UPS truck.  I'm a fairly positive person and emotionally I'm feeling so so much better now. I'm just ready to move on to begin a new month with a more positive outlook. And for anyone having a bad day, week, or month hang in there. I swear it does end!

P.s. I'm not looking for any sympathy, but thank you for reading! See you in October!

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #14

It's safe to say that I'm full on obsessed with these flats! I don't even know how many times I've worn them, but the bf even commented on how much I wear them. I'm not sure if that is a good thing. Pretty sure it's a sign I should get the black version and possibly need a back up pair because my heart will be sad when I wear them out. But now let's move on to the dress. This is clearly not your average shirt dress and it sold out online, but this navy one, this grey one, and this white one are great options. I wasn't sure if I would like it but figured I can return it. The second I put it on I knew it was a clear winner. The tie waist hugs in just the right way and felt amazing on.

Now, it's time to flashback to last year's look. It's a simple red dress and the versatility of accessories. I think I'm going to pop that dress on this weekend. You can see the full post here.

Now, it's time to join Jessica and I for our weekly linkup. We really love seeing your posts and hope you enjoy linking up with us!

3 Ways to Knot your Belt

You know what happens when you walk into your favorite boutique? You walk out of there with something you never were looking for like this belt. No regrets! But that left me searching for ways to make it look even better. Yes, I know this is double wrap style, but these really easy ways to knot will work on a regular belt that might be a little long. So give one of these tries to amp up your look!

Laced Up

First things first, these red lace-up flats are more amazing than I ever could have imaged. Yup, I went back and forth about getting them. Should I get them in black or red? Maybe just black. Maybe just red. Black was sold out by the time I made up my mind, but now found them here. I'm not really a red girl, but I am a flats girl. #flatsforever You guys these flats are by far my favorite thing I've bought in awhile. They just make any outfit look that much better and your feet feel comfy too. I wore them for a little blogger date with Jessica where we got to eat, blog chat, and do some outfit pictures.

Oh, and now that my bank card situation is fixed, I think I can go back to important things like getting these flats in black, riiight?

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #13

Fri-yay! I just want to squeeze you! I'll spare you all the details, but let's just say it's been one of those weeks. You know the kind where your bank freezes your bank card because online shopping at some UK company called Topshop seems suspicious. Okay, I just spilled it. You guys I can't online shop for a good 7-10 business days till I get my new card. I begged them to let me at least get my Topshop order in. You guys I really am crushing hard on these tassel flats! My shopping carts are full and staring at me. I'm trying to see this as a sign that I should relax on the shopping. #staypositve

But it's Friday and that whole bank situation isn't going to get me down. We have linkup and I can't believe it's already #13! Time sure is flying. Now, let's flashback to last year when I went wine tasting. You can see the full post here. This swing dress is still one of my favorites and love that it's comfy (aka loose so I can eat as much as I want)

Thank YOU for linking up last week! We hope you'll join Jessica and I this week. We get excited to see your outfits and posts!

The Trench Dress

trench dress (wearing petite) // black booties (normal size) // ray-ban aviators

If there's one thing that get's me excited, it's dresses! I just love them! So the second I saw this trench dress I knew it was nothing like I had in my closet and could work alone or layered. I found that the petite size fit me better in case you are debating and I'm 5' 4. Sizing is really limited online, but you might be able to find it in stores. It's probably my favorite Fall piece I've picked up.

As you may or may not know, I work at Sole Society and one of the perks is getting to see what's coming before it launches on the site. You don't even know how hard this makes things;) These cutout booties caught my eye immediately! The suede looks really well made and are true to size. They are the perfect happy medium for this hot weather we have been having but still wanting to wear a Fall like shoe.

I hope you had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #12

moto jacket (old, similar) // grey tshirt // scalloped skirt (comes in black too) // black booties

You're not going crazy that is the same skirt and top from my last post. Like I said this skirt is just too good and knew I wanted to wear it for date night. So with just a few swaps voila! A moto jacket and shoes are the easiest ways to take a look from day to night. Plus I'm guilty when it comes to repeating a favorite an ridiculous amount.

Now let's flashback to last year! It just so happens to be a date night look, but it's a little more casual. I think I'm going to have to bring that dress out this weekend. It's been crazy hot and humid. I would not think it's September at all!

Thank you again for joining Jessica and I weekly for our linkup! We love looking at your unique style and blogs! Make sure to linkup with us because it wouldn't be the same without you!

White After Labor Day

Jean jacket // grey tshirt // scalloped skirt // crossbody bag (similar under $20) // lace up sandals (old, these flats would be great)

I know white is usually associated with Summer and not so much Fall. But even with Fall approaching very soon I knew I had to snatch up this white scalloped skirt. Hellooo scallops! Nope, can't resist scallops. And I have to say mother nature is working in my favor here. It's been in the upper 90's. The key to wearing white after Labor Day is mixing in darker neutrals to give a more Fall-like vibe even if it's 95 degrees outside.

How are you wearing white after Labor Day?

5 Fall Transitional Pieces

If there's any reason I'm okay saying bye to Summer and hello to Fall, it's for the sake of fashion. But I'm not going to lie it's still a little sad. It's can also be a little awkward this time of year. We might be ready to pull out sweaters, layers, boots, but wait it's still hot out. So here are 5 key pieces to transition into Fall.

Wool hats are a great accessory to start those Fall vibes. It has Fall like texture without those heavy layers.

So you're excited to bring out the layers, but don't want to melt? A military vest is your answer! It's olive color screams Fall, but great for tossing over tshirts and dresses.

Skirts, suede, both! The two trends are going to be huge and together are even better! You still want to show off that summer tan and why not with a suede skirt. It will be just as fab with tights when temps cool.

The perfect middle ground to boots is the cutout bootie. You might just be seeing these around here soon. They are those shoes that go with so much!

I've been a fan of flare jeans for several years, but this is the year that you NEED to pick up a pair! Not only will the 70's trend be huge, but they are beyond flattering. This pair is under $60!

Last Minute Labor Day Sales

Happy Monday! I just wanted chat about those sales with you. I know a little last minute. But seriously these are some of my recent finds and lucky for you they are on sale! I haven't posted all these looks yet, but shared on Instagram and wanted to share while they are on sale.

I'm really not conveniently close to Old Navy, but seeing everyone find all these cute pieces that have me saying 'that's from where?' I made sure to pop in a few weeks ago. If more things were available in my size, I would have walked out with way more than that pretty floral top. Isn't the perfect Fall floral? It's under $10 guys! It comes in several prints and styles, but I think I want it in the romper. Old Navy is having up to 60% off and an additional 20% off online with code DAYOFF

Oh, and don't forget that jean skirt! I paid full price and not complaining, but it's from ASOS and they are having 10% off everrythang with code YAY10

I just KNEW I needed a trench dress! So the second I spotted this, I ordered it online. It's definitely going to be a winner for years to come. Sizing it limited and I did get the petite option. If you can pick this up, you won't regret it and I mean it's 40% off. #score But everything at Banana Republic is on sale with code BRFALL

I'm a sucker for pretty earrings! I love throwing them on when I have one of those hair days and the only thing working is a messy ponytail. These blue ear jackets (under $20 and come in another color) and so much is up to 60% off at Bauble Bar. UPDATE: Get an additional 15% off sale with code SALEONSALE (today only!)

I've posted this floral dress here, but it's been a recent favorite. Like I said, even the boyfriend approved. It's now on sale for under $40! I wish I could have waited, but I love it that much to pay full price. It comes in a darker print, so maybe I'll snatch that up.

Have a wonderful Labor Day! The plan is to stop by the beach. Fingers crossed that happens!
