Dressing Up Neutrals

jacket // tee (so obsessed!) // jeans // cork sandals c/o Donald J Pliner // hat

There's something I love about visiting a new city and dressing up a little more than you normally would. To me, it's the adult version of playing dress up. No one knows you and you can test out outfits you might think twice about. And I've been having fun finding time to do that over the past week while I house sit for my sister. It's a calm little beach town that finds flip flops appropriate for any occasion. So these cork block sandals are far from what the locals wear, but I loved breaking them out. It's being completely okay with standing out. Dressing up and being who you want that day. And that day, I was casual fancy for a day of brewery hopping. Also, pretending I like beer.

Thank you for everyone who links up with us! We enjoy all your posts! Our picks are April from April Was Here and Kristina from The Kontemporary!

Thank you to Donald J Pliner for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.

More Olive + Linkup

sweater (similar) // jeans // purse c/o Coach // espadrilles (size up) // hat // sunglasses

Listen, when I find something I love I will.not.stop.wearing.it! It took me so long to replace my purse (it's still in my closet so it will show up again) to this amazing upgraded bag. I have to say that I've also been on an olive kick, possibly a whole other obsession. And I may or may not be writing this post in an olive top. But olive is just one of those neutrals that works year around. So while this purse might be from the spring collection, I already know it's going to work seamlessly into Fall. Is there a color that you love to wear every season?

Now let's flashback to last year's look here. And well, what do we have here--my trusty espadrilles. These espadrilles are still going strong! Basics are just the best.

Thank you so much for linking up with us! We love to look at all your outfits and posts! Our picks are Chelsea from Chow Down USA and Karen from Lady in Violet!

Olive Blazer + Linkup

blazer c/o banana republic // tank // jeans // espadrilles (20% off here) // sunglasses // hat

Listen, all I can say is that this blazer is approved by Olivia Palermo. If that doesn't say winner, I don't know what does. Because anything OP wears is so good. I honestly don't think I can afford anything in her closet, so you know this is second best. So I wanted to make OP proud and went for a more relaxed vibe and have to say it was perfect for looking like you tried a lot more than you did. That's exactly what I wanted Jessica to think when I met her for Sunday brunch last weekend. No joke, she is making the dressing the bump look so easy.

Anyway, let's flashback to last year's look here. Well I have to say it's a similar outfit formula in a different color scheme. Neutrals on neutrals will always win.

Thank you so much for linking up with us! Our picks are Erin from Happily Howards and Rachelle from Pink Sole!

Spa Week Is Coming!

There's something you need to put on your calendar because I didn't even know this existed and it's that good it almost sounds unreal. Spa Week. Yes, it's real and under the radar for a good reason. A select group of spas across the nation participate to offer certain services for $50 dollars. Saaay what? Facials, massages, waxes--all $50! Spa week runs from April 17-23rd and you can see what's in your area here.

They have every type of spa and treatment you could think of. Since I've been leaning towards natural and organic beauty products, I was so excited to find Supernatural Skin in my side of town that offers a holistic approach to skincare from the Spa Week list. You don't even know how rare that is in this part of the Los Angeles area.

Let's just say I got pampered and left with a wealth of knowledge. I opted for the Osmosis Holistic Facial + LED Treatment, which normally is $140. So you can see why this is the time to book your spa treatments.

From the second I stepped inside Supernatural Skin, I was immediately immersed into a little sanctuary. Jane, the owner, welcomed and eased me through the entire process. Truthfully, I felt like I had 5 facials and a massage in the hour or so time span. Oh, and she gave me samples of the products she used. But if there's anything I learned from Jane it's to use Vitamin A and C and antioxidants to keep your skin in shape.

Can we talk about how glowing my skin was? Oh my gawd, it was amazing!

Now, excuse me while I go book more spa visits and this facial for my mom. You can check out the spas in your are at Spa Week's website.

Thank you Spa Week for allowing me to review a spa. All my opinions are my own, honest views.

Madewell Sale Picks

UPDATE: You can take an extra 30% off ALL sale with code: dreambig (this is the sign you've been looking for guys!)
If there's one email in my inbox that get's me excited, it's ALL the emails from Madewell. My formula usually goes like this: opens email with new arrivals, plan trip to Madewell, try on everything new, buy one thing, wait till everything else goes on sale, and repeat. And guess what guys? Things from the first spring arrivals are starting to be marked down. I make sure to note the best sizing so that I can buy the pieces I want and not have to worry about any final sale pieces.

WINDOW PANE TIE-WAIST TOP // reg. $88 sale $54.99 extra 30%=$38.49
It was LOVE at first sight! And it's just as good in person. The material is heavier, which is ideal for me. The office I'm in is freezing! But the tie waist makes it incredibly flattering.

STRIPED BELL SLEEVE TOP // reg $69.50  sale $39.99 extra 30%=$27.99
Okay, so you shouldn't wear a colorful sports bra underneath it. But it is a cute light-weight top for the warmer months. I love the sleeves and well the stripes are a change from my usual blue and white.

BELL-SLEEVE SHIRT IN STRIPE // reg $69.50  sale $29.99 extra 30%=$20.99
This is one of those upgraded classics that has the right twists to make it a great staple. The slight bell-sleeve is enough to test out the trend, but not excessive. The oversized body is my jam, but recommended sizing down. You can see how I styled it in this post

SILK FIESTA PAISLEY DRESS // reg $168 sale $99.99 extra 30%=$69.99
Every now and then I do come upon a print that I love and this is one. I love an easy dress to throw on and this would be it. But I would need to add a belt to it. Now that it's on sale, I feel like the price point is great for a silk dress.

SILK FIESTA PAISLEY TOP // reg $110 sale $79.99 extra 30%=$55.99
Of course, I had to try on the top and well I loved it! I know a lot of the reviews said it runs small, but I found it be just right with my normal size. I do have small shoulders and chest, which probably is the reason. Otherwise, you might want to go up a size. I can't wait to wear this with white jeans in the spring and black jeans during the early fall.

EYELET OFF-THE-SHOULDER DRESS // reg $158 sale $129.50 extra 30%=$90.65
This is one of those dresses that you see and have to try on. It's that pretty. I tried to come up with a million reasons or places to wear this. Trip to Italy or Tulum, no one would say anything if I wore this to work, right? Is that just me who does that? Anyway, the price now is just too good to pass up. It does run big. They were out of the smaller size when I tried it on, but they have all sizes online.

Have you picked up anything from Madewell this season?

Upgraded Basics + Linkup

top c/o banana republic // jeans (on sale) // espadrilles (order 1/2 up) // jacket // hat

If there's one lesson I've learned, fashion wise, it's basics are life to your wardrobe AND they don't have to be boring. I really wish I would have learned this a lot sooner. But I'm always find myself drawn to a great basic with details to impress. We all know black and white is classic--nothing new. It's when you find those special details, like the sleeve on this white top, it gives some personality to the look. And if I wasn't pretty casual, I could see this working with skirts and dressy pants for those who work in an office. I like knowing that, you know if I had a business attire job.

Thank you for linking up with us! Our picks this week are Brittany from Kingdom of Sequins and Jill from Doused In Pink.
