Splurge or Steal: White Eyelet Dress

There really isn't anything more perfect than a little white dress that screams summer to me! Lately, I've been crushing hard on white eyelet dresses especially off the shoulder white dresses. Since my birthday is coming up and we are going to be in Santa Barbara, I feel like now might be the time to snatch up the perfect eyelet dress to celebrate. The second I saw the Saylor white dress, it certainly was love at first sight! But after doing a little searching I found this Re:named white dress that's more budget friendly and still gives that wow factor. But I also found this and this which are so cute too! The question is which to get?

All White

So if you know what the Cream event is you might start getting suspicious. It is a wedding planning event.
Is someone getting married? Nope. Am I wedding planner? Nope, again. But if you want to know some facts here you go:
1. If it sounds cool, I'll say yes.
2. If it's open bar, that's a big YES!
3. If there's free food, sign me up.
4. There's good photo backdrops for outfit picks, heck yeah!
5. There's a goodie bag! No questions asked I will be there!

So I guess you can say I love free and cute and tasty! If you get a chance to go, it's a fun time. Besides all the free things, there's photobooths, flower bouquet making (a lot harder than it looks), and live music. This year they encouraged us to wear cream or white, which honestly made getting dressed easier. This white dress isn't online, but here are a few favorites that I need want.

Craving Lately: White Embroidered Dress

For the past few months, I've been stalking this Free People embroidered dress. It's seriously is everything I could ever want-effortless and amazing embroidery. Oh and the back of the dress is pretty sweet too! Well everything but the price tag that is. It's taken a lot for me to say no, but sometimes when you come to terms with it not happening miracles just show up. I was glancing over at Pinterest and what do I see? A dress pretty much identical to my dream dress. I really have been on a white and blue embroidery kick (see here) and consider that a warning of what's to come. Now the only question is do I hit click on my Chicwish shopping cart?

It's All White

I'm not even going to lie, but was pretty obsessed with finding the perfect dress for my birthday for over a month. I didn't even know where I was going, but figured the right dress would help the process. I know real logical.

But life happens and the million and one ideas of what to do, what to wear, and with whom all went up in smoke the week before. No dress, no waking up at the beach or on a boat, and no boyfriend to enjoy all day. I was not excited anymore. Possibly had a big pity party.

And then it hit me after my girlfriends came to the rescue (both emotionally and physically) that I had it ALL wrong. That sure having a cute birthday dress is great, but focus on what's important-making the most of what you have. No it didn't go the way I had it planned in my head, but I spent the day with amazing friends, found an even better dress, and ended with a little date with my favorite guy.

So here's to a new year focusing on what's important, great friends, and date night's!
