Chambray Wrap Top

denim faux wrap top

basic weekend outfit

hair inspiration

madewell denim top, black skinny jeans

top (seen here) // jeans // sweater // shoes // sunglasses // purse // lipstick

You know those days where you really put a little more effort into getting ready? Well, this is it. This is me stepping it up. I know, you're probably laughing. But any day that I actually curl my hair, I consider it me being so extra. Truthfully, I was meeting Jessica for coffee and some pictures. So in away I was getting all fancy for you ;) Every now and then we like to meet up for a good latte, chat about blog life and take some pictures. We ended up at a new spot that had a tasty matcha and the best brownie (yes, that was my breakfast). Anyway, this top seemed to be the perfect occasion for the day. I love how it's a little more interesting than your regular chambray shirt. It might have also been my justification for finally picking it up, but do I really need a reason? My philosophy is you can never have too many chambray shirts. Anyone else feel that way?

Last year's look here is one that incorporates another style that I can never have too many of--stripes. I just realized I wearing the same jeans from this post, too. Staple pieces, I tell ya.

Thank you for linking up with us! Our picks are Ruth from My Little Nest and Cheryl from Cheryl Shops! Make sure to go give them some love, too!

Oversized Grey Coat

coat c/o (size XS) // velvet tee (comes in 2 other colors) // jeans // mules // purse

No matter the year, I always find myself investing in a good coat. While the weather in LA might not reach blizzard temperatures, I cannot handle even the slightest chill. This coat is a happy medium. It's perfectly oversized, so you have enough room for chunky sweaters or layering. But in my case, just tossing over a velvet tee and having enough warmth. Does that make sense? It is a wool-blend, but lightweight so you don't look completely ridiculous. I just ignored the fact that there was a guy in a t-shirt and shorts walking around as I snapped these. I like to be comfortably warm (or will find the slightest excuse to wear winter clothes). Do you pick up a coat each year?

Thank you for linking up with us! Our picks this week are Shauna from Lipgloss and Lace and Tilden from To Be Bright!

Bundled in the City + Linkup

coat (very old) // top // jeans // booties (similar) // scarf // hat (got got this version-so good!) // sunnies

As you know a couple of weeks ago, I headed to the Bay Area and let's just say I'm am a wimp when it comes to the cold. I took all measures to dress in layers and not look like I wore everything.single.thing.I.own. Think double shirts, pants, socks. Because I just can't do the cold. Turns out it was so wet and windy that weekend. Note to self: don't wear a hat unless you want to be fighting to keep it on (last picture is not posed). We literally walked, fought the rain/wind, and ate. And I have 24K steps to prove it. Anyway SF has sooo many great spots that I keep discovering new favorites. Here are my new one's:
  • Home-cute spot for coffee! Not only will you get a great looking picture, but they seriously taste AMAZING! We tried the famous rainbow latte, lavender latter, and cookie monster latte.
  • Boba Guys-totally lives up to the hype! Even though it was cold, I ordered a matcha and strawberry boba and still crave it!
  • Flores-perfect spot for Mexican food! This is the gourmet version. So expect lighter portions. But the ambiance and food are on par.
These really are all over the city, but all worth it! If you ever need suggestions, let me know or read this post :)
Okay, now let's have a looksy at last year's look. All about putting those basics together and just never getting old. I'm thinking I need to re-wear this look maybe tomorrow.

Thank you so much for linking up with us! We look forward to seeing your outfits! Our picks this week are Katie from Hello Katie Girl and Abby from Life in the Fash Lane!

10 Faux Leather Jackets Under $100

If there's one thing you need in your closet, it's a good (faux) leather jacket. My personal preference is faux for budget and lifestyle choices, but if leathers your jam no judgement. And every Fall/Winter I seem to find a great faux leather jacket that I can't live without. Turns out that obsession is a good one. It's a staple that I reach for time and time again (good ROI if you ask me). Plus, a good jacket is like a good bra-does wonders for your confidence. I've rounded up 10 or so great moto jackets that won't break the bank. You might even think about picking up more than one. I know I am.

Spring's It Bag

Let's talk staples! Maybe I'm a little late figuring out Spring must haves. But if there's a style that has been huge it's the saddle bag and I've actually had this bag since last year. Technically, I'm ahead of the game.  Only I've come to realize that I love this style SO much I might want to invest in a leather one like this one. From the slick, clean lines, saddle bags go with just about everything. It's the perfect size to keep the essentials and a few extras like a notepad or book (I'm old school like that). Aannnd this saddle bag (under $50) fits a DSLR camera for all you bloggers and it's finally back in the cognac color! I've rounded up all my favorites from budget to investment options:
