Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #10

floral dress // espadrilles (under $25) // earrings (under $5) // ray-ban aviators

Floral. Pleats. Lace. Love at first sight I tell ya. I tried walking away from it, but I came right back for it and guess who also loves it? Yup, my favorite guy and that really sealed the deal for me. But really he might have not liked it and I still wouldn't have returned it. Sometimes you just have to wear what you love for yourself. It's just a nice bonus when your other half gives you the thumbs up.

Now, it's time to flashback to last year and see if things have changed or not. Last year, really was my year for rompers. Still loving florals and espadrilles, but not sure how much I really love this romper any more. Maybe if I try restyling it with some fall layers once it cools down. Don't forget to hope over to see Jessica's post!

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #3

Romper (gift from my sister) // reversible tote // ray ban aviators
Well hellllo Friday! If sunflowers and lemonade don't scream happy Friday, I don't know what does! And Lemonade (the cafe) is so good! If you're in the LA area, it's a good quick stop for a bite and lemonade of course. Anyway, besides having something refreshing to drink, rompers are great for an easy outfit. My sister picked this one up for me as a birthday gift and I might have worn it a few days in a row. It's like wearing pj's! You've probably have seen that tote a lot in the blogsphere and for good reason. It's so durable, fits tons, and goes with everrrythang! Just be careful because you might knock over your lemonade with it. Okay, that's just me. At least, they were nice and refilled it free of charge. #happycluts

Oh, and you know what today is? I know I only said Friday like a few times. But it's our Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup! Jessica and I love see all you that have linked up and hope you join in today! In case it's your first time linking up, we take a look at our current style and look back a year (or 6 months, a month, etc) to see how our style has evolved.

Here's my look from last year and I think I need to dig up these pieces because I accidentally forgot I even had these!

Flashback Fashion Fridays Linkup #1

Hellllooo Friday! I have to say it's been pretty rough coming back from last weekends extended staycation for my birthday. Oh yeah Monday was my birthday. Feel free to send gifts;) We went to Santa Barbara and the weather was so nice and slightly chilly (that's not a complaint). I had every intention of wearing this printed romper but never did because of that slight chill. And well I might be a year wiser I'm still cold blooded. But it was perfect for the weather near my house. Hello 95 degrees. It's bit shorter than I thought so threw it on to lounge by the pool. Just for reference I bought the small and I'm 5'4. I'm thinking going up a size would be good for length.

Anyway, on to something exciting, the very first Flashback Fashion Fridays Linkup! This is something that Jessica and I have been working on putting together. Our goal is have fun and take a look at how our style has evolved by linking to your post from a year ago. Totally okay if it's not a year ago-last 6 months, last month, last week all are welcome. We hope you'll join in!

This was last years look and funny enough I am wearing this top as I type. I can see myself wearing this top for a long time! See the post here.

Blue Floral Romper

blue floral romper (under $20) // gladiator sandals (run 1/2 big; more sizes here)  // ray-ban aviators // silver necklace c/o Helen Ficalora // long pendant necklace // neon hair tie c/o Haybands // wrap bracelet via Rocksbox (get a free month with ADRILATELYXOXO)
I have a couple of weaknesses and one of them is rompers. As I've said before, it's already summer in my book, which means it's time for rompers to come out full swing. Oh, and ice cream! When I saw this blue floral romper, I was immediately dawn to it with all the vibrant colors. I was a little hesitant to order because I wasn't sure about sizing with foreign companies, but knew I couldn't beat the price tag. For reference, I went with my usual size small and I'm about 5'4. It's a good thing it fits-I got adventurous and picked up this pink floral romper too! I also recommend getting the expedited shipping. Placed my order Friday and it arrived the next Friday. The quality exceeded my expectations too!
Since it was warm out over the weekend, I figured it would be perfect for my lunch date with Jessica. We went to one of my favorite wine spots and did a lot of catching up. It's just really nice to have someone who can blog talk with you and just share what we have been learning. And how awesome are her photography skills? We took a little walk in the nearby neighborhood just to take these, which only a blogger would understand and do willingly.

Nasty Gal Romper

photos by Jeans and a Teacup

It's one of those lessons that has taken me some time to learn, but some times I learn the hard way. That's not just me riiight? Those accessories and great ones are completely worth spending on. I can't even tell you how many times I've worn this Panama hat and truthfully I didn't think I would wear it enough to spend $58 on a hat (I wasn't exactly a hat person at the time). And when you impulsively buy a cute floral romper for $23 it's the perfect touch to make that romper look more expensive. Hopefully, I learn this lesson from now on. But I'm thinking this floral romper was actually a very good decision because LA likes to keep it in the 90's. Yes, the 90's in October. The trench and vest however are seeming pretty foolish.

Hope you had a great weekend! It was my friend's wedding yesterday! Can't even tell you how amazing it was!

Romping It

Months ago I was so resistant to rompers. There was that inner battle of fashionable vs. practical. Well, I guess fashion won because I just can't enough of rompers. This floral romper opened the flood gates of my endless obsession and I'm not sorry. I packed it for our girls trip (aka bridesmaid bootcamp) a couple of weeks ago and didn't really think through the tank and shoes, but I think the black accents ended up working out. I mean I pretty much think these Vince espadrilles will go with anything. Too bad black shoes are off limits for my bridesmaid outfit-brides orders. I'm pretty sure she was looking at me when she made that rule.

Hope you're having a great week!

Romping in Venice

Clearly I'm obsessed with rompers and now that I think of it specifically floral rompers. I mean I did wear one on the blog this week, which I actually bought while I was wearing this Free People romper. No shame. But it was scorching oven hot this day and rompers are my go-to since clothes are not optional and you have your Costa Rican friend visiting. And you know my style tip about putting a cami under your romper so you're not sitting half naked in the restroom? Well I pretty much tossed that out the second it's over a 100 degrees. We did get some relief by heading to Venice which included smoothies, heavenly pizza at Gjelina, and ice cream that was free.

Thanks for stopping by! xo

Romper Love

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I know, I know it's Tuesday. But after playing tour guide to my sweet Costa Rican friend and getting a day of rest I'm getting back into the swing of things. It was non-stop go go go since Thursday evening till Sunday. From Downtown LA to Santa Barbara, we took in the sites literally one bite at a time. It also happened to be like thee hottest weekend. And that meant trying ice cream after ice cream. No complaints there. One of our stops was to Venice mainly for Gjelina (a must if you're in LA) and I found this floral romper at LF during their massive sale. Let's just say I haven't taken this number off during this heat wave!

Happy Tuesday! xo
