Tis the season for sequins! Am I riiight? Not going to lie, but last year it was my big obsession. This year not so much. Not saying I'm ready to give them up. I'm just looking for new ways to wear them and all black with a side of sequins has my name all over it. With my holiday party next week, I'm thinking this is a good contender. Plus, these pants are more like a legging. Let's be real, that's a game changer when it comes to all the indulging happening this time of year.

Since we're on the subject of shine, let's just flashback to last year's holiday sequins. I really still love this skirt and would wear it again this year. But...maybe someone wants to invite me to their holiday soiree so I can wear it.

Holiday Sequins

Last year I have to admit, I was OBSESSED with sequins. This year not so much, but when I saw this floral sequin skirt it was game on. And the second I knew my work was having a holiday party, there was no turning back on this gem. Initially, I planned on wearing it with a black turtleneck but found a metallic silver tshirt, which I honestly had no clue if it would work with the skirt. I probably shouldn't go shopping the day before the party and without the skirt. I took a chance and I have to say I think it worked out so well. Now I just want to live in this outfit! Definitely will be repeating in the next week or so.

This Skirt of Mine

There's just something about some sequins that make getting dressed that much better! This skirt was probably my first adult sequin purchase (definitely no regrets). If there's one thing I can't resist, it's aztec print but done in sequins it's the icing on the cake!

Moto Obsessed

Well can we just agree that I intentionally meant to show you the many ways to wear a moto jacket this week? Nod your head yes. I know this jacket has been worn all week, but seriously a moto jacket adds the perfect finishing touch to any look. This ensemble turned into my last minute NYE look. I honestly didn't think we we're going to go out at all but I had like 10 minutes to get things together. And really those 10 minutes felt like a minute scrabbling around. It goes to show that my favorites will save the day no matter what day or year it is.

Oh and where are my manners! I almost forgot to say Happy New Years! Did you have a fun time ringing in the New Year?

A Sparkly Christmas!

Just wanted to wish everyone celebrating today a very sparkly Christmas and happy holidays! I did get around to making my own wrapping paper and wanted to preserve their memory before they are enjoyed. Now I'm off for more fun holiday fun!

The Sequin Blazer

I'm trying to figure out if I'm just in a complete festive mood or I just have a full blown case of sequinitis (that could be a real thing) because I have been reaching for sequins everyday. But either way I just want to sparkle! I love down playing this blazer with a fun graphic tee and in case you're trying to figure out what my tee says it's 'I'm just here for the savasana.' It's a little ode to my love for yoga, but it's too cute not to wear it outside of the studio.

2 Tops, Day to Night

Two of my favorite trends right now are plaid and sequins and paired together is even better if you ask me! After seeing this post last week I knew had to recreate it! I actually had this black sequins tank sitting in my closet for a couple of years and not really knowing what to do with it. I'm just glad I didn't put it in the giveaway pile because now I feel like I can style this tank a million and one ways (hint: you'll be seeing this top again like real soon). After being inspired to wear it for day, a little light went off in my head-these same two tops could totally work for night!

For night, just switch up the layers of the the tank and plaid shirt and voila! I opted for black skinny jeans and some extra special heels (hello gold heel!). A pencil skirt would also be a great option, but it was chilly out and this California girl is a cold weather wimp. Yes, anything below 70 degrees is cold.

It was just one of the most beautiful sunny days (pinch me! Isn't it December?) for a stroll in one of the cutest neighborhoods. Every single house is so cozy and inviting. I could move into just about any one! Let's just pretend that's my charming little house behind me, kay.

Maybe you're catching on to my sequin addiction, but this soft gold clutch is the perfect girly touch to break up the plaid and leather. If you're still unsure about sequins, a clutch is a great introductory piece that can transition from day to night.

Festive Sequins

With the holiday season in full swing, it only seems appropriate to wear the sparkliest thing I own. Plus, my addiction to sequins is in full effect. I've said it before, and I will say it again, but sequins are totally appropriate for day. A sequin skirt can be a little much, I know. But with a cozy, oversized neutral sweater it creates the perfect balance. Adding a red scarf helped really tie in the festive vibe I was going for. Has anyone else tried playing down sequins?
