Madewell Try-On: Spring

You know I can't stay away from my favorite store, Madewell! I always say you should sign up for their Insider's program because they do have perks throughout the year and one of those times is NOW. You can get 15% off your order including denim, but today is the last day. Most sales do not include denim, so get.on.it. It's a free program and who doesn't want extra sales?! While I didn't plan my visit too well, just excuse my black bra in a lot of these Spring fabrics.

9" High-Rise Skinny Jeans in Paloma Wash: Raw-Hem Edition // Size 25

Oh, again, I did say I didn't plan my trip well, right? I came in yoga pants and ended up grabbing these pair of jeans that I was just using to pair with all these tops for you. Turns out that accident turned into me finding the perfect basic jean that makes your butt look good. Why isn't jean shopping always this easy? So if you're looking for a nice high rise jean without rips and hugs your body so good, grab these.

Easy Crop Tee in Daisy Sketch // Size XS

Now, if you don't get Spring vibes from this floral tee, I don't know what will! The soft floral print is more of a minimal vibe that I find refreshing. It is boxy and cropped, which goes well with these accident jeans (as I'm calling them). Of course, this tee would go well with any high waisted bottom. At first, I tried on an XXS but then went with the XS (seen here). I wanted a little more room and concerned it could shrink. It's that perfect tee to toss on when you don't feel like trying too hard.

Eyelet Keyhole Peplum Top // Size XXS (on sale!)

When I saw this online, I knew I needed to try it! Madewell always does eyelet so well. Again, hello black bra. Truthfully, I thought this would be a top I would fall in love with. Maybe it's the bra throwing me off, but the slight puff shoulder threw me off. It is very sweet and perfect for Spring, but just wasn't me. I will say that if you do pick it up, just know that it is slightly on the sheerer side. For work, you'll want to wear a tank under. Weekend wear would be fine with a nude bra.

Botanical Embroidered Bell-Sleeve Sweatshirt // XS

In my head, I have a cute garden and I would wear this cute sweatshirt. The quality on this sweatshirt is thick and gives that good quality feel. The embroidery is the perfect detail. It does have wider sleeves, so I rolled them up.

Village Ruffle-Sleeve Shirt in Highgate Rainbow Stripe // Size XS

Okay, another kinda sheer top. This one feels more like summer with the stripes and fabric. While you could wear this for Spring, I do think it could require a tank underneath. It's adorable, but sheer. The fit is less oversized than other shirts they make. Normally, I'm XXS in their shirts, but went with the XS.

Blakley Stripe Sweater Tee // Size XS (on sale!)

They made this style shirt last year and brought it back in these fun stripes. They totally get you can never have too many stripes. The fabric is a knit and so much better in person. For the fitting, I would go with your normal size. It's not oversized, but has the right amount of room in your normal size. If you have a bigger bust or muscular arms, you might want to go up a size.

Which one's are your favorite?

Finding My Bliss Again

It's funny to see these pictures and realize you can see a difference in yourself. No, I'm not talking about getting fit or anything like that. It's deeper. It's something I've been working on for a really long time. ME. That mental and spiritual me. And to be honest, it's been a roller coaster to get here. I fought for it every.single.day. If you don't remember (or missed my post), I was laid off 9 months ago to this date and I haven't talked much about it here since. Probably one of the hardest and longest battles I've had to overcome. It's the closest thing I know to an unexpected breakup. Not only was it a punch to the ego, but for every interview that turned into rejection or even worse being ghosted pushed me back to what felt like the beginning of the starting line. There were so many no's and so many tears. And you have to pick yourself up and try again and again and again. But I can say I made it through. I actually made it. I landed the right job. I'll tell you about that another day.

If you're in that tough spot of looking for a job, know that you can find the right job for you. It might be so hard now, but it really is just a season. No season can last forever. If you need someone to talk to about it or advice, please email me! I know how lonely that road feels.

Circle Bag Obsession

wrap top (size xs) // jeans // shoes (spring edition) // purse // sunglasses

Well I finally got a new purse, but lucky for you it's pretty much the same purse just in a bright fun color. You don't even want to know how long it took me to decide on finally pulling the trigger on it. My longtime friend actually bought it first and when we were in San Diego she would let me use it for photos (talk about friendship!). So I guess you can say she gave the final push to buy it. I know purses are something we use everyday and can be an investment, but it takes me so much thought and debating before I buy a new purse. Is anyone else like that? In all fairness, I will wear a purse everyday until it's done. Buying a bright colored purse is out of my comfort zone, but in the words of my friend "it's a nice way to elevate even yoga pants." That girl. She knows how to sell me. I haven't tried it with my yoga pants. Will report back soon ;)

Now, let's flashback to last year's look here. Of course, it has my old circle purse when it was nice and pristine. I'm really hoping the circle bag trend stays around a couple more years because it's so cute! Anyone else obsessed with circle bags?

All I can say is what a difference a week can make! Last week, I talked about my outfit being an inner reflection of the transitions I'm going through. And I'm back with another look this week that's bright and cheery because that's exactly how I feel. In case you didn't catch my big announcement here, it explains it all. Okay, okay, I'll tell you here, too. I just was hoping to write a post about it (and still plan to). I'M ENGAGED! This completely come as s huge surprise because we never really talked about marriage. We always talked about getting a house because priorities. We're just realistic. We've been together SO long that just figured if it's meant to happen it will. I wasn't going to push it-it's not my style. Anyway, we have so many big weddings this year (another reason I sure didn't see this coming) that my mind is no where close to planning ours. We're headed to Tulum for his good friend's wedding next week, which this top is coming with me. And these pictures were taken a day before he proposed, but really showcases how I'm feeling.

But it's that time of the week where I flashback to last here's look here. This look is more of what I normally wear (minus the heels), but all pieces that still are on rotation. I can't even tell you how many times I've worn that camel jacket!

cute weekend outfit for spring

To be honest, my transitional look wasn't meant to describe my life right now. Only after trying to figure out a title for this, it hit me. I'm transitioning again and again. And if you haven't noticed around here or Instagram, I've been pretty MIA. This season has been full of twists and turns and really little time to rest. I started a freelance job just under two weeks ago and it feels like it's been a whole month. My brain is being used in ways it hasn't and it's a good thing. But I guess just like any job, the beginning can zap all your brain power. One thing I'm grateful for is the ability to work from anywhere. Traffic in LA is another thing that can suck out that last of your energy. The craziest thing is we're heading to Tulum in two weeks, too. Totally not a complaint, but trying to get settled into a new routine and then also finalize our itinerary makes me feel as if I'm being pulled in the opposite direction. So if anyone has tips for Tulum, help a girl out, k?

And now it's time to flashback to last year's look here. It's funny because I just was around this location a couple of weeks ago and it's completely different. It was a spot that was mostly deserted and made for a good photo op.

Fancy Tee

blush bell sleeve top

cute blush tshirt and distressed jeans

easy weekend look for spring

cute coral top with bell sleeves

casual coral tee and ripped jeans

top (size xs / on sale!) // jeans // sandals (similar) // purse // sunglasses

Don't mind me, but I'm living my best life in what I call fancy tees. Yup, a fancy tee says you're trying to look like you got it together. That you know, you put some effort into getting dressed today. Living in LA, it's so casual already and I really don't see that many people daily, so I really have to push myself to put on some cute clothes. The best thing are all the options for updated t-shirts and it's been my new obsession. It's still easy to toss and go, but basic enough that I actually wear it. This blush bell sleeve top (currently 20% off) has been the newest addition and is made of a nice thick, ribbed material, so it gives it enough of that fancy I look for.  Is anyone else into all these fancy tees? And if you know of any you love, tell me please. Here are a few more I have or been eyeing:

Okay, I can't believe it's already the end of the week, so it's time to look back at last year's look here. Oh, and I'm talking about updated basics (aka fancy tees). Guess my style is still the same.
