Bell-Sleeve Stripes + Linkup

Stripe top (size xxs, on sale) // Jeans // Booties // Jacket // Hat (similar, similar) // Sunnies

It's official. I haven't met a stripe oversized top that doesn't get my heart singing. A few weeks (see here), I tried this bell-sleeve stripe top on. I held back because a) I have enough stripes and b) it was full priced. Those few weeks gave me enough time for the universe to hear me. It went on sale and sits in my closet nicely. Well, except when I pretend I'm a professional bruncher on weekends. It's oversized in the best way. The kind that hides any traces of pancakes and quiches. Anyway, I plan to do as much eating and matcha drinking this weekend for a little trip to San Francisco. Pretty sure this top will be coming, too. Oh, I know everyone is going craazzzy for the Shopbop sale, but Madewell is doing 15% off e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g (hint, hint this top is on extra sale). How cute is this tshirt

Okay, time to flashback to last years look here. It's an outfit that has all the basics you can't go wrong with. Bonus points for being one of those outfits that you know you can look at year after year and not cringe (you know what I mean).

Thank you for linking up with us! So so many cute outfits! Our picks this week are Amy Ann from Straight A Style and Sarah from Trendy and Tidy!

Feng Shui Your Wardrobe

For the past year, I've come to learn the value in basics. So when Garnet Hill asked me for some tips about bringing some Feng Shui to your wardrobe, I knew there's some tips that I have learned. You can check out the post here.

P.s. they really amazing quality basics like this silk trim cardi.

Have a great day!

Reworking The Basics + Linkup

Jacket (size small) // top // jeans (similar) // booties (similar-UNDER $40) // hat // purse

It's probably taken all my life to finally understand how good neutrals are. But I get it. FINALLY. You end up with so many more outfits because everything goes together AND you want them in your closet a lot longer than that neon floral printed dress (was that just me?). And you want to know what's better? My flashback look is styling those exact jeans. Don't get me wrong, I still love a good print every now and then. But I know the majority of my closet will be neutrals. While I probably need to retire these booties, I do think this pair would be a great replacement for under $36. Plus, I have them in black.

Now, here's how I styled these white pants last year. There's nothing like an almost all white outfit!

Thank you for linking up with Jessica and I last week! Talk about so many great outfits! This week our picks are Karen from Lady in Violet and Chelsea from Chow Down USA

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #12

moto jacket (old, similar) // grey tshirt // scalloped skirt (comes in black too) // black booties

You're not going crazy that is the same skirt and top from my last post. Like I said this skirt is just too good and knew I wanted to wear it for date night. So with just a few swaps voila! A moto jacket and shoes are the easiest ways to take a look from day to night. Plus I'm guilty when it comes to repeating a favorite an ridiculous amount.

Now let's flashback to last year! It just so happens to be a date night look, but it's a little more casual. I think I'm going to have to bring that dress out this weekend. It's been crazy hot and humid. I would not think it's September at all!

Thank you again for joining Jessica and I weekly for our linkup! We love looking at your unique style and blogs! Make sure to linkup with us because it wouldn't be the same without you!

3 Ways to Wear White Jeans

After the longer than long search for the perfect white jeans, it took a little time to put those beauties to use.
Maybe it was the fear I would dirty them, but now I can't stop wearing them. Here are my three favorite ways to style them:

Wear with a black top for a classic look as I did here. If you're feeling a little adventurous, try an off the shoulder top. Add a fun clutch for a boho finish.

Pair you white jeans with your favorite tshirt and add a third element like a fun kimono. Full post here.

Going for a more feminine vibe? Work those florals into the mix with your white jeans. I always love to finish the look with a jean jacket, but works with or without.

P.s. There's something exciting happening Friday! I'll be teaming up with my blogging buddy Jessica for a new linkup called Flashback Fashion Fridays. We'll be taking a look at our current style and looking back to last year's look We hope you'll join in the fun!

One Dress, Two Ways

work look: blazer, handbag, pumps // weekend look: jean jacket, crossbody, sandals
If there is one thing always on my list for Spring, it's a cute dress and this abstract shift caught my eye. Not going to lie, does make me want to be on vacation. But since I can't be on vacation all the time I put two looks together for my real life. My easiest fashion formula for the office is adding structure, structure, structure. A black blazer, structured handbag, and classic pump really balance out the ease of the dress to create a professional look with style. Now for the second look, my favorite part of the week, it's all about easy style. While it still might be a little chilly for Spring, a jean jacket is a must period and great to add a casual vibe. Add a great little crossbody bag and some cute sandals and it's perfect for running errands to brunching with the girls.

What's your favorite way to remix a dress?

Leather and Camo

So don't get me wrong I really do love summer and those warm days and the beach. But the last time I checked the calender it's October-OCTOBER! Why is it still in the upper 90's? My fashion urges are craving fall so much and truthfully the thought of buying another sweater, plaid, trench is just teasing me. Buying something that clearly cannot be worn for possibly a month just kills me. I've got a couple of pieces just sitting tight. What it has resulted in is me digging and searching last years pieces to mix and match. I also started going through my many forgotten necklaces and started to pile them on and is just a great way to turn those old necklaces into something new. The best part is you can create a necklace that no one else has!

Hope you're having a great week!

Remix Matching Separates

With fashion constantly evolving and new trends popping out, it's a love hate relationship to be honest. Some trends I'm immediately on board and others have me scratching my head like this. When matching separates started to make it into stores last year, my initial thought was 'alright fashion industry, you are trying to get me to buy something that was once sewed together but now you cut it into two and my wallet will not be fooled!' But then I kept seeing matching separates and really cute printed ones (ahem, hello florals). This light bulb went off right when this set was available on Hautelook and suddenly I saw the potential in separates. I mean a girl is allowed to change her mind, am I right? Or was it just perfect timing? I know you've seen me wear the skirt and top separately and very recently, but I am totally in love with them and now I wanted to show you how easy it is to remix matching separates.
