Casual Black Outfit + Linkup

Black top (on sale, size up) // Jeans // Sandals (go 1/2 size down) // Hat (similar) // Circle Purse // Scarf

June is one of those weird weather months in LA. Every year, without fail, the fog and clouds just roll in. You think I would accept it by now. I am an LA native, but there's a naive part of me hoping it will skip this year. Doesn't look like June Gloom is missing out. So it makes for interesting dressing. You get up reaching for sweaters. Then by midday, you're regretting all the warm layers. While I don't recommend wearing all black in the middle of Summer, I have a better chance at getting away with it during this split weather month.

Now, let's talk accessories. Every season I find myself adding in new accessories to transition into the next season. This bag is my new go-to bag and it's on major sale. It fits your essentials and adds a unique twist to any outfit. The other purchase that I'm so excited about are these suede sandals. Literally, they feel as close to being barefoot (in a good way). If you know me well, you'd know that I'd rather be barefooted as much as possible. But they don't need any breaking in and could wear them with just about anything!

Let's flashback to last year's look here. Besides being a neutral outfit, it brings me back to one of my favorite cities, San Francisco. Better yet, it makes me wish I was still waiting to eat at one of best brunch spots, Nopa. In between waiting for a table, we found a cute alley to snap some pictures. You guys go there. It's completely worth the wait.

Thank you for linking up with Jessica and I! We get so happy seeing all your great posts. Our picks are Ruth from My Little Nest and Rachael from Threads for Thomas!

Subtle Prints + Linkup

top (size up if you have broad shoulders) // jeans // purse // shoes // hat
It's one of those Fridays that I'm not sure if I should celebrate or pause for a minute. It's June guys! JUNE! That also makes it my birthday month.

It's a big birthday too. The big 3-0. Feels so weird to actually type that out. I feel like I just blinked and my 20's are about to disappear. If I'm being honest, I have mixed feelings about it. I don't really feel older, but I was hoping for a big trip to celebrate. It's those expectations that are getting the best of me. Life isn't going to play it out like that, but we will spend the day in a familiar town at a new place. I'll share later. The timing might not be right for a big trip this month, but I'll keep my options open for something this year. Just putting that out into the universe, kay?

And if there is something I'm crazy excited about it's this top and purse! You know I love me some Madewell. Possibly too much, but I can live with that. Both are on sale and I can't even count how many times I've worn them. And I loved the print so much I scooped up the dress version too. #sorrynotsorry

Thank you for linking up with us! There were so many great looks! Our picks this week are Mary from Mary Murnane and Kelsey from Pardon My French!

10 Fall Hats Under $60

hat (old) // bracelets c/o Pura Vida

Oh, Fall how I love you! Mainly, it's for the layering and all the amazing accessories. You bet I'm a hat girl. Let's face it-you can get an extra dirty hair day in when dry shampoo won't do. Last year, I really came into scooping up a good hat (pictured above). It definitely takes a lot of scouting, but when you find one and on budget it's like finding that extra $20 in your pocket. I recently picked up this one and found a bunch of other one's that have the perfect shape, brim size, and budget-friendly.

Feeling Like Fall

All my favorite Fall pieces that have been sitting pretty in my closet are rejoicing now. It's FINALLY feeling like Fall in LA. Seriously, I'm pulling out everything that screams layers. This oxblood jacket is no exception. I didn't know when I was going to be able to wear it, but the time has come and I find it goes with everrrything! If there's one thing I would say is my go-to in cooler months it's a good jacket. You probably will be seeing it a lot around here.

In other news, can I just say I'm officially hooked on Old Navy. This top (last seen here) and these jeans are some pieces that I cannot stop wearing. And we all know how much I love a good lace up flat so when I saw these restocked I just had to. Forget about picking nude or black because they are under $30 each-both it was!

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #5

If you know me, then you know how much I looovvve a good print! It's summer and let's be real how sticky things can get. So the second I saw this blue printed dress, I knew I had to at least try it on. It was the last one and clearly it was meant for me. I've worn it 3 times in the past week. It's like your not wearing anything and that's perfectly fine by me. And if you can't tell but I'm obsessed with wide brim hats and my cognac tote. They just go with everything, if you ask me.

And because it's Friday, it's time to take a look at last year's look, which included a floral printed romper. I seriously forgot about that romper and now I need to pull it out. You can see the full post here. We were visiting Tucson for a spontaneous wedding. Can't believe that was a year ago!
Now it's your turn to join Jessica and I in the linkup! We can't thank you enough for linking up with each week!

The Summer of Shoulders

Here's the thing. I'm obsessed to say the least with anything off the shoulder. I'm constantly looking for anything and everything off the shoulder. I'm pretty sure it's a boarder line problem. So you know when I saw this blue off the shoulder top I knew I had to have it. It actually combines my other love-embroidery. It really makes me feel like I'm on vacation. It also comes in cream and I might just have to get it too.

Anyway, these are my favorite jeans ever. They currently are part of the Nordstrom sale and they fit so well. I don't think I've had other jeans fit like they were meant specifically for me. I had to pick up another pair and also these jeans. Definitely worth stocking up on!

Summer Vibes

Happy Monday! Yesterday, we got back from our quick trip to Vegas for a proposal. The boyfriend's brother planned out the proposal to include practically his whole family. Everyone wore a different letter t-shirt to spell out 'Will you marry me?' and I took the pictures. I was feeling the pressure to make sure I caught the moment and I'm happy to say I did! Oh, and she said yes! I snapchatted a lot of it and I guess you can say I'm a new convert to all the hype of Snapchat. You can find me under Adri Lately. Being that it was such a quick (less than 24 hour trip), it was so easy to Snapchat everything.

P.s. If you are looking for a great wide brim hat at a steal, this hat is AMAZING! I found it at my local Free People, but was able to find it online for even less than I paid.
