Holiday Red + Linkup

If you've been reading sometime, you might know that you rarely see color in my outfits. And that couldn't be more true when it comes to any shade of red. Don't get me wrong--red is a really pretty color and well synonymous with the holidays. I just happen not to feel myself in it. I'm sure you have a color that you love on others but can't seem to make it work. But I've learned not to give up on those colors. It's about finding a shade that compliments your skin (for me that's deeper reds). Then, it's about the style. I'm a huge fan of lace! When I saw this top, I went for it. It was a happy medium of my style and still going out of my comfort zone. Naturally, styling this crimson top with my neutrals was a no-brainer.

Now, let's flashback to last year's outfit here. I still can't over those pretty leaves. But anyway, all these pieces are still in my closet. This look came together after I decided to book a 24 hour trip to San Francisco. If there's ever a time to rely on basics, it's when you have to pack lightly.

Thanks so much for linking up with us today and all year! It's hard to believe that this will be the last one this year, but we'll be back in 2017. We loved Karen from Lady in Violet and Rachael from Threads for Thomas looks!

Olive Swing Dress + Linkup

dress c/o Route 32 // moto jacket (so obsessed!) // hat (new addition) // purse

Did someone just press the gas peddle on December? There's so much going on. If I list it out, I think I might scare myself. But tis' the season for lots of things, right? Even though it's very eventful right now, I have been filling my closet with essential pieces like this faux suede moto jacket (seen here) and this olive swing dress (under $20). It makes it so easy to get out the door. And can we talk about how this dress hides all the food babies? Oh, yes! I type this after eating a donut for dinner. #adulting

Now, let's flashback to last year's look here. I still love all these pieces! I might just repeat this look tonight for a goodbye dinner. It's on a rooftop, so need a warm outfit.
Thank you for linking up with Jessica and I! We truly look forward to seeing your posts and connecting with you! Our picks are Kristina from Kristina Does the Internets and Konstantina from K Meets Style!

White For Fall + Linkup

top c/o stylewe // jeans // purse (old, similar) // lace-up flats (old, similar) // aviators

I think the world is in agreement that they can't believe it's September already. BUT having the long weekend to start it off really eases some of that edge off. And besides making a list ridiculously long of all the things I want to do because I'm dog-sitting my nephew (aka Dusky) who happens to live within 5 minutes of the beach, I'm wearing all the white just to show that weird fashion rule it doesn't make sense. Because let's be real this white top is just to pretty to be sitting in my closet till next Spring. There's so many details to it-pearls all along the trim, black stitching, cute fabric covered buttons at the shoulder. This was my first time shopping with StyleWe and just like the top doesn't miss the details so do they. The curation of unique designers basically gives you the confidence that no one else will show up wearing the same thing.

Now let's flashback to last year's look here.  And yes you will recognize Jessica's famous wall (that's what I call it). There's so many favorites put together in this casual look.
Thank you again for linking up with us! We love looking through all your posts. Our picks are Ruth from My Little Nest and Kim from Champagneista! How cute are these dresses?!

Recent Buys Under $100

Middle row: fringe sandals $80 // lace up sandals $65 (on sale)
Bottom row: blue stripe top $27 // v-neck stripe shirt $40 (on sale) // ots black dress $45 (on major sale)

Neutrals, stripes, and everything nice is what I would say I've been adding to my closet lately. I have a tendency to wear the same things over and over, so finding variations of what I wear too much has been my goal when shopping. I'm still waiting for this and this to arrive, but I have a feeling it will be well received. Actually, most of these pieces will be making their way into my luggage for a fun trip this week. I'm really excited to wear the tie front dress and LBD (has pockets). I'm such a dress girl!

Have you found any good, fun basics you picked up recently?

Keeping It Positive

shirt c/o le motto // jeans // flats (old) // jacket (old)

Fun fact-I'm a big fan of collecting motivational quotes! There is a power in words and I always find myself on the lookout for new quotes that inspire me. Let's face it life isn't always a piece of cake. But when things get tough I turn to my favorite quotes to power through. So when Le Motto asked me to style up a new collection of their motivational shirts, I jumped right in. Rather than just keeping these quotes to myself it's a great way to walk around spreading some positivity. And this is just the first of three looks!

Make sure to stop by Le Motto for more amazing good vibe shirts! The shirt I'm wearing just launched today for their new #ActuallySheCan campaign.

Mostly Black and White

The past four weeks have been go, go, go and I really was ready to take it slow this weekend. I guess getting a throat infection will also get you to slow down. But I decided not to let it slow me down that much. There was very important food consumption to be done. I can't say no to food. You're probably wondering how could I get the food down with a throat infection, but it's with careful selection it was fine. It's not often that your anniversary lands on a Saturday and we've had this restaurant on our list f o r e v e r. #noregrets

Also, my Costa Rica trip is coming up sooo fast! 10 days to go and I'm trying to be super selective about the clothes I take, aiming for only a carry on. I'm thinking one really versatile dress that can go from beach to dinner to city. Anyone have any suggestions?

Good Red Shoes + Linkup

A little look from the weekend, that I may or may have not re-worn again for work. When you love an outfit that much, you gotta re-wear it for those who missed out, riiight? Well that's how I wear things over here. Anyway, these pieces are all old, but I continue to wear season after season. And, yes, those red flats are considered a staple in my book!

Now, it's time to flashback to last year's look here. Looking at this now makes me miss SF but also feels really over the top to where my style is now. I actually just donated this hat to make room for this hat. However, I should pull out that purse again!

Jessica and I hope you enjoy linking up and join us again this week! We really do love seeing your latest posts!

New Vibes

Happy New Year! Did you guys make it till midnight? I have to say I did! When you have 80 year olds not batting an eye at the clock, you basically have to stay up. There's no excuse for me. Well, other than the fact that I'm really okay going to bed at 9-yesss, I just said that. But if the 80 year olds can, I can do it for one night.

Even though it's pretty cliche, the New Year always has me feeling refreshed and ready to make changes. Anyone else feeling the same? From decluttering to working out, it's on my list. Towards the end of the year, I stopped working out. Just STOPPED. Hmm I don't remember that being so jiggly. So before the year ended, I got myself back to yoga. Personally, fitness or yoga, is more about how I feel rather than focusing on the external but it cut down on the jiggle. While it's SO hard, I can tell how much better I feel. And I guess you can say this outfit is a result of decluttering. I'm the worst at letting go old clothes, but I now just want a full functioning wardrobe meaning lots of staples. That's definitely something that I can see spill over to the blog. Are you making any changes or taking on some new habits?
