how to style a red lace dressOh red, it's funny how much I avoided you! It's taken me small doses to get to this point of wearing this much red. What's so silly now is that I am loving it! Why haven't I been wearing more of it sooner? It just takes baby steps and going out of your comfort zone sometimes. The key to wearing bold colors that can be a little scary at first is pairing it with neutrals and keep everything simple. Let the bold colored item shine!

Hope you had a great weekend! xo

Bring on the boyfriend shorts because a comfy short is what I want to live in all summer! If you read Monday's post, then you know they possibly will scare my mother. I'm starting to think she questions my fashion choices more as an adult than as teen. Hopefully, this isn't going to turn into me years later realizing that mom knows best about boyfriend shorts or jeans. I'm willing to take that risk. I guess my teenage rebellion is finally starting to kick in.

Thanks so much for reading! xo

It's All White

I'm not even going to lie, but was pretty obsessed with finding the perfect dress for my birthday for over a month. I didn't even know where I was going, but figured the right dress would help the process. I know real logical.

But life happens and the million and one ideas of what to do, what to wear, and with whom all went up in smoke the week before. No dress, no waking up at the beach or on a boat, and no boyfriend to enjoy all day. I was not excited anymore. Possibly had a big pity party.

And then it hit me after my girlfriends came to the rescue (both emotionally and physically) that I had it ALL wrong. That sure having a cute birthday dress is great, but focus on what's important-making the most of what you have. No it didn't go the way I had it planned in my head, but I spent the day with amazing friends, found an even better dress, and ended with a little date with my favorite guy.

So here's to a new year focusing on what's important, great friends, and date night's!

Not My Boyfriend's Jeans

Usually it's boys or anyone of the male gender that say the funniest thing about fashion women wear.

And I know boyfriend jeans have gotten plenty of comments from my own boyfriend. He's learned by now that yes these are suppose to be loose.

This weekend though it was my mom. "Adri are you wearing guy pants? I mean are you wearing your boyfriend's pants?" Her sincere concern and tone of voice were priceless. And for the record these are not my boyfriend's pants.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Lacey Me

It's funny how sometimes even I feel like I don't have anything to wear. Yesss, sometimes personal stylists don't know what to wear. But resorting back to what feels right to YOU is always a win! For me it tends to involve what I call boho glam-loose top, distressed denim, and some bling! And you know what? I got so many compliments this day (a rarity in the hustle of LA), it just reminded me to dress for me.

Thanks for stopping by! xo

Sometimes the week is filled with a special birthday that has to wait to be fully celebrated on the weekend. You might have seen last week on Instagram it was my favorite guys birthday. Hard to believe he's the big 3-0! We had so many different plans on how to celebrate, but let's just say this day in Santa Barbara wasn't one of them. It turned out to be us discovering a great wine tasting area with art and amazing food. Since Santa Barbara is about hour and half away, this floral romper makes for a comfortable outfit without sacrificing style. I've worn this romper before here, but with cooler temps near the beach I knew a jean jacket was a must. Let's talk shoes now because clearly I am admiring them up there. You can't really see my sandals, didn't really feel like telling the birthday boy to get on the floor although he did approve of them but they are on sale here for under $50. You won't regret them!
Happy Tuesday! xo

Blue and White

blue and white top and skinny jeansThis thing for blue and white prints continues, but I'm okay with that. It's something that I know I will wear year after year. Not to mention, this was another score from TJ Maxx. That's what happens when you are dog sitting in another part of town and spot a TJ Maxx. You go in and explore. I think it paid off. This location had all these designer labels that I would love to have in my closet. Hellooo, pretty Cynthia Rowley top in blue and white! Maybe it was luck or fate, but this top is my new favorite.

Hope you have a great Monday! xo

Craving Lately: The Peasant Top

cute peasant topsBefore this June gloom disappears, I want to stock up on easy breezy tops and peasants tops are a perfect fit for Summer.  With different details and colors, it's not easy to pick. But with some shorts and cute sandals, it's an easy look for Summer escapades.

Here are a few more that I've been eyeing:

Summer Revival

So maybe I have a thing for blue printed dresses. But when the weather starts to heat up I do get excited to bring out pieces that haven't been worn since the last summer. It's like getting a new wardrobe that's free. I should say feels that way since everything was paid for at some point. Since I had (past tense because that Nordstom sale was too good) been holding off on buying new sandals, I pulled these grey pair out that I've never really worn and felt a new connection with. Sometimes it times several tries or years. Are you pulling out your Summer pieces and giving them new life?

Tile Print Dress

Are you a print lover? I know I am! Printed anything really. When I spotted this dress, I immediately thought of the tile at Intelligentsia in Silverlake. Today, it reminds me of Morocco. Not that I've been to Morocco or anything. But a great printed dress is something I gravitate towards on days I really am scratching my head on what to wear. They basically make a statement all on their own, just add neutral shoes, and you have a great look.

Have a great Wednesday! xo
