Lace Details

So really I thought I was going to write all about this oh so pretty lace top I recently picked up from Zara. Besides the fact that I think I have love for white lace tops, it's just so easy to wear and go. I may have worn it three days in row. Yup, already getting my return per wear on this beauty. The best part is I've managed to keep it clean and not spill a single thing on it. However, them jeans you see will be the first and last time. I've had them for years, but rediscovered them (aka my go-to jeans are in the every growing laundry pile). And while I was waiting for my food to warm up in the microwave I thought I'd do couple of squats you know to get a little exercise in. Now I know there is a reason why you are suppose to do that in yoga pants not jeans. A couple of squats later and the sounds of tearing-pants.ripped! RIPPED right on the tush! I really can't believe that happened, but then I look at my jeans and just laugh.

Happy Wednesday!

Almost All Black

The first words out of my friend's mouth the second she saw me was 'Wow, I've never seen you wear all black!' But in my fashion eyes I'm not wearing all black. Not that there is anything wrong with wearing all black. There's just this little part of me that tries not to reach for all black. I used to think it was just too easy and lacked any thought. But breaking up an all black look is so easy to do with fun accessories. This dress is from last year and I've worn it so many times, but this black dress is pretty similar and under $20!

Hope you're having a great week so far!

Bold Stripes

Well I'm back with another leather look. And I don't know what it is about leather, but it's what I want to wear for our little dates lately. These faux leather shorts are from last year, but I have my eye on these. Plus, it's not quite layering season so these bare legged looks are totally acceptable in LA. I'm pretty okay with that. It's finally okay to wear (faux) leather and not be a sweaty mess! Anyways, I hope the weekend was a good one. I feel like I blinked and it was over.

Alright Monday, let's do this!

Fall Date Night

When you know, you know. Maybe you didn't intentionally go there for it, but hey it's all part of the adventure of TJ Maxx. Went in for shoes for my bridesmaid dress, but spotted this Vince Camuto blouse (solid version) instead. Told myself no because shoes were the priority and then I came right back the next day. You know just to get it out of my system. Next time, I'll just go with my gut. I would have been devastated if is was gone. But clearly the universe wanted me to have it in my closet. So far I've worn it to work and date night in less than a week. So far this leather skirt is my favorite combo or for fall in general.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Bridesmaid

Bridesmaid! Bridesmaid! My first of my close friends had her wedding on Sunday. Annnd I was 1 of 7 bridesmaids! She really didn't have a choice. I did say that I would creep up there regardless, so let's make this easy and let me be a bridesmaid. Beside witnessing the cutest wedding, the dresses we got to wear are totally my style! Clearly, I was meant to be in the wedding just based on the dress alone. I know you can't really see the details on the neckline (sold here), but we decided they looked better backwards. It really was one of the greatest weddings!

Hope you're having a great week!

Repeating Lace

Who loves repeats? This girl! This whole look is a complete repeat and I'm okay with that. Sometimes I question my Free People binges, but this lace top (love this) keeps proving itself time and time again. My boss and I had a deep conversation (a whole 60 seconds roughly) about this top. I'm not going to lie, but that totally made my day. Now I'm thinking I gotta keep this up and as you probably have seen it's the most anticipated sale (aka the Shopbop sale). Yup pretty much everything (and by everything I mean what I can afford) is 25% off with code FAMILY25. For the sake of impressing my boss, I've got my eye on these:

Nasty Gal Romper

photos by Jeans and a Teacup

It's one of those lessons that has taken me some time to learn, but some times I learn the hard way. That's not just me riiight? Those accessories and great ones are completely worth spending on. I can't even tell you how many times I've worn this Panama hat and truthfully I didn't think I would wear it enough to spend $58 on a hat (I wasn't exactly a hat person at the time). And when you impulsively buy a cute floral romper for $23 it's the perfect touch to make that romper look more expensive. Hopefully, I learn this lesson from now on. But I'm thinking this floral romper was actually a very good decision because LA likes to keep it in the 90's. Yes, the 90's in October. The trench and vest however are seeming pretty foolish.

Hope you had a great weekend! It was my friend's wedding yesterday! Can't even tell you how amazing it was!

Craving Lately

Oh-m-gee! It feels so good just knowing it's FRIDAY! I have survived, well almost survived my first week at my new job. It calls for 5 am wake up calls and while I'd like to say I'm a morning person seeing the moon going to work is not what I had in mind. But I'm just shocked at all the people up at this hour and on the road. Anyway, while my first paycheck hasn't physically hit my bank account yet. I sure know what I want to use it for. Yes, I'll take one of each please. That floral midi skirt has just been restocked and it's under $20! I'm thinking it can't wait till payday!

And on another note, my friend's wedding is on Sunday! So bridesmaid mode is going into full swing! Feel free to follow along on Instagram!

Have a great weekend!

Leather and Camo

So don't get me wrong I really do love summer and those warm days and the beach. But the last time I checked the calender it's October-OCTOBER! Why is it still in the upper 90's? My fashion urges are craving fall so much and truthfully the thought of buying another sweater, plaid, trench is just teasing me. Buying something that clearly cannot be worn for possibly a month just kills me. I've got a couple of pieces just sitting tight. What it has resulted in is me digging and searching last years pieces to mix and match. I also started going through my many forgotten necklaces and started to pile them on and is just a great way to turn those old necklaces into something new. The best part is you can create a necklace that no one else has!

Hope you're having a great week!

Here are some great options for necklace layering:

Romping It

Months ago I was so resistant to rompers. There was that inner battle of fashionable vs. practical. Well, I guess fashion won because I just can't enough of rompers. This floral romper opened the flood gates of my endless obsession and I'm not sorry. I packed it for our girls trip (aka bridesmaid bootcamp) a couple of weeks ago and didn't really think through the tank and shoes, but I think the black accents ended up working out. I mean I pretty much think these Vince espadrilles will go with anything. Too bad black shoes are off limits for my bridesmaid outfit-brides orders. I'm pretty sure she was looking at me when she made that rule.

Hope you're having a great week!

Rompers I have my eye on:
