Craving Lately with Jeans and a Teacup

One unexpected results from asking some of my favorite ladies to share what they are loving for Fall is discovering amazing places to shop or rethink some well known shops. Much of the latter is the case this week with the classic and girly style of Jessica from Jeans and a Teacup. This fellow LA gal has the sweetest style, which I love to see since mine is more boho. Anyone else find it so interesting to see how others in your own city dress? Anyway, I'll let Jessica take it away from here:

Textured Jacket: Light jackets/blazers are a must have for cooler fall weather. This knit fabric is comfortable and fun with a little bit of peplum flair.
Embellished Sweater: I love how the jewels add a little sparkle to a neutral sweater.
Fit and Flare Skirt: The ponte material is comfortable and the shape is flattering. You can wear this skirt in the summer and then add knee high boots for more coverage in the fall.
Stackable Bracelets: I love bracelets that look great alone or together!
Booties: Transition your footwear from summer to fall with a pair of booties! This burgundy shade is a favorite of mine for fall!

Aren't her picks such great staples with a little flair? Make sure to stop by Jeans and a Teacup!
Have a great long weekend!

Repeat Romper

Since I know Summer is coming to a close, I've been reaching for all my favorites like this floral romper. I feel like it's a bit of a time crunch even though in reality LA doesn't really get that cold. But the last time I wore this romper here (totally not even close to being over rompers) was for our trip to Arizona last month. I knew I wanted to wear it with a hat and these espadrilles (sorry to keep teasing you with them) but didn't have the time to pack them. The hat really couldn't come at a better time. I'm pretty much at my whits with my hair. Consider that a warning, but probably nothing drastic. I tend to cut my hair in baby steps. Anyone else do that?

Hope you're having a great week! xo
More rompers I love:

Craving Lately with Fashion Bling& Other Girly Things

This week I want to introduce you to Tori of Fashion, Bling, & Other Girly Things, which wouldn't surprise me if you did know her. The woman has some major sass when it come to style that is completely relateable and to top it off she's the sweetest gal! So I now let Tori tell you about her picks for Fall:

1. Pearl Statement Necklace- I love a good statement necklace--and make it out of pearls?! I call that perfection!

2. Fall Jumpsuit- The summer jumpsuit was fantastic and I am excited to carry it into fall with longer sleeves and paired with booties.

3. Chambay Dress- I can't wait to wear this with my hot pink Hunter's for those rainy fall days here in Ohio.

4.  Boyfriend Jeans- These boyfriend jeans have a great cut and are perfectly distressed!

5.  Fall Booties- The dark leather and buckles make these booties extra special--and extra high on my wish list :)

Am I right? She has some great picks! Make sure to stop by and say hi on Tori's blog

Meet Tatiana

Over the past couple of months, I've had the pleasure of getting to know the all too hilarious and super motivational Tatiana and all I can say is that I wish she lived way closer. The girl can crack me up and get me pumped all at once! She reached out to me to help her style her tshirts for her business called By Tatiana, which has the slogan 'Smart & Single'. Even though I'm not single, I am smart and I love Tatiana's message behind her brand-be happy where you are and enjoy being single. I mean really we all could use that reminder to be happy where we are. This is one of looks I did for her campaign and you can see more over on her blog. There's a sweet giveaway happening too!

A Summer Picnic

Summer might be coming to an end, but it sure didn't feel like it over the weekend. It was one of those days that you ask yourself if you really have to put on clothes. Clearly, the answer is yes. To be honest any activity at all just seemed like too much even getting dressed, but we agreed before this heat wave that we would have a picnic at Echo Park Lake. It's a spot that has been transformed and is just outside downtown LA. There's amazing views of the city skyline and is really such a great spot for people watching and picnics. And since I usually spill on myself I went with dark wash shorts and a printed top that is super forgiving even though I really wanted to wear this amazing floral romper. Oh, I will be back!

Hope you're having a great week! Make sure to check back tomorrow for something super exciting!

Floral Maxi

When I bought this floral maxi dress way back when, I honestly didn't think I would get much use out of it. Flash forward to now and it seems to just blend right in with some of my current favorites. It also makes me feel like I should be on vacation and be sipping something fruity or maybe I'm just craving a little getaway. Overall, I'm glad I went against the grain at the time and went ahead with this maxi dress. I'd like to think that my future self totally knew what was good for me.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Craving Lately with The Real Arnolds

If you missed last weeks Craving Lately post, then let me fill ya in! I'm pretty sure you're getting ready for Fall and what's the best part about that? The FASHION! Ok cooler weather comes in at a close second. Believe me when I say that I have my little list growing (maybe growing too fast). But I asked a few other stylish ladies to see what's on their list. This week is the ever so stylish Amy from The Real Arnolds. Her style is polished but so attainable. Now, I want to add all these things to my list. Amy we might just be twinning it this Fall in that jacket or shirtdress (fair warning). So here's Amy's breakdown:

1. Leather Moto Jacket - A leather moto jacket is my ultimate fall wish. Effortless over a dress or paired with boyfriend jeans, a moto jacket is practical, long lasting, and always stylish. Plus, it can make a sweet outfit a little edgier.
2. Rebecca Minkoff Purse - A Rebecca Minkoff purse is another item that has been on my list for far too long. For some reason I have yet to pull the trigger. I keep telling myself that next time I splurge, this will be the item. I love the classic shape and style with the studs and chain strap. It's an easy outfit maker.

3. Open Toed Booties - (This is one item I actually already have from my list) Boots are by far my favorite type of shoe. They instantly lend an edge to any outfit. Let's just say I might have a boot buying problem. I always look forward to the temperatures cooling off so I can break out my boots! To satisfy myself in the meantime, I started looking for a heeled, open-toed version. I have been seeing these paired with skirts, dresses, and jeans. I wanted black and with detail, and this Vince Camuto pair fit the bill. I think they will be the perfect fall transition piece.

4. Shirt Dress - I love dresses. I wear them all year and just vary how I style them. In summer and spring, just add a flat sandal or a strappy heel. In fall, boots and a jacket. In winder, add tights. I've been seeing a lot of shirt dresses lately. They are a fun twist on a basic, and I consider something like this shirt dress a great addition to any wardrobe.

5. Red and White Striped Blouse - My wardrobe is full of silky blouses. I love them for their versatility. They take me from work to weekend and everything in between. I love light colored, short sleeved for summer and darker, long sleeved for fall and winter. They are so easily layered too. I have been looking for a red and white striped version to add to my closet. I love anything striped, and red and white is a fun twist. I haven't found the perfect one yet, but I'm keeping my eyes out!

6. Asymmetrical Hem Skirt- I love any type of classic piece with a twist. An asymmetrical hem skirt fits the bill. Depending on length and styling and skirt like this could be worn to work or on a date night.

Updated Black Skirt

Chambray shirt via TJ Maxx // Nasty Gal Necklace // Vince Espadrilles via TJ Maxx
You probably wouldn't know, but fitted bottoms aren't really my thing. Like they make me super uncomfortable because a) I like to eat my carbs and b) not a fan of showing my tush off. But when I found this Free People skirt on the sales rack at Bloomies I gave it try. I mean what's the harm in going out of my comfort zone for a Free People skirt that's now $30? And you can take a guess as to what happened. It was the best idea. The knot detail creates some very strategic ruching to let me eat all the carbs I want=SOLD! Plus, it's a black skirt that I can see working in the Fall with booties and this moto jacket.

Here are some great fitted skirts that are carb friendly:

Black Slip Dress

Summer evenings are truly the best. You can be out later and just keep it simple. This black slip dress by none other than Free People has been a staple in my Summer attire-not sure why it hasn't made it on the blog sooner. But it's perfect for an evening out. Here's the thing. It is kinda is a nighty and I was trying to convince the boyfriend that it wasn't. It's not completely a lie because I've never worn it to bed-ever ever. Plus, when I bought it I had every intention of it being a dress to wear in public. I totally chatted about it with the sales girl. So this time around I knew I had to step it up with the way I styled it. I turned to my trusted jean jacket, leopard sandals that have been on major repeat, and panama hat. Black slip dress is a dress!

Do you ever shop in other departments?

Craving Lately with Have Need Want

pale blue coat, graphic sweatshirt, gold necklace, caged ring, metallic midi, wedge heels

With Fall closely approaching, I thought it would be fun to see what other stylish ladies were craving lately. So the first person I wanted to ask was one of my own blogging friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Laura from Have Need Want at Lucky Fabb and let's just say she had killer style that totally caught my eye. Clearly, here picks do not disappoint. How amazing is that metallic midi worn with a sweatshirt, but um hello holiday parties? Okay, so maybe I'm really jumping ahead. Make sure to check out Laura's blog for style inspiration or to say hello!

The Striped Dress

After countless searches to find the right striped dress, I just thought it was a lost cause. Turns out it wasn't. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and go for a somewhat fitted dress, but not so tight I feel like I can't eat all day. The agenda was to walk several blocks down from my yoga studio (sometimes I'm super early) to Urban for a hat. I never made it. Distracted by cute store after cute store and boom found this little number for $20 (good alternative). It's a t-shirt dress and super comfortable. Not to mention thin black and white stripes are so flattering and easy to wear. And if you can't tell I'm slightly obsessed with these leopard sandals that I will wear with everything! From now on no walking down the streets near yoga-I come back with cute clothes.

Here are some stripe dresses that I have my eye on:

J.Crew Embroidered Shorts

Alright J.Crew you got me! You finally got me. After all this time of seeing just about everyone being so obsessed with J.Crew, I finally caved with these white embroidered shorts. Totally, worth caving. I mean how could I resist the embroidery? Even the boyfriend is a complete fan and asked where I got them. Yes, please add J.Crew to the list of places I shop. One thing I had heard was that the sizing can run large and I found that to be somewhat true. Because shorts are well short I like to take a size or two in the fitting room with me no matter what. I have the habit of oversizing because I tend to think I'm this size, so bringing in a couple of sizes is a good way to forget the actual size and just find the right fit.

Are you J.Crew obsessed? xo

Colorful Dress

This weekend was filled with some interesting weather and by interesting I mean clouds and these little wet particles from the sky. I hear they call it rain. But dressing for this was semi challenging. It's August so it's hot, but it's wet out off and on. We had to special event to go to and the dress code was vague, so I always reach for a dress in a modest length. Turns out I was a little overdressed, but I still think this dress was perfect. If you ask me, you can never go wrong with a colorful dress.

Happy Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by!
