Favorite Fall Outfits

Is everyone recovered from their Thanksgiving food coma? I think I'm still having a hard time realizing that the year is practically over. Anyone else? But with a little look back on November, I thought I'd share some of my favorite outfits with you. It definitely was a month I embraced more neutrals. The grey and tan look above (seen here) was perfect for an almost Summer-like day here in LA. FYI that skirt is under $20 today!

Give me them blanket scarves! See my 3 ways to style them here. But in the Sole Society office errbody was excited to see this plaid blanket scarf return and luckily snatched one up quick! This blanket scarf is really similar and under $12! #stockingstuffer

There's just something about oxblood, grey, and tan together that I cannot get enough of! See the full look here. These booties have been my go-to and are 30% off, which never happens. If you're in between sizes, I would do the larger size. They come in a bunch of other colors too.

Happy Monday!

Black and Tan + Linkup

Hope you guys had a nice Thanksgiving! Still hard to believe it's the holidays, but all that mash potatoes and pie say otherwise. And while I would have loved to have worn this, it was a little too cold for this LA girl. But possibly one of my favorite looks when the sun is out! I'm back at work for a half day, but here's some of my favorite sales happening:

Anthropologie: 25% off everything with code SHOPTOIT
Old Navy: 40% off everything (picked up these yoga pants and these grey jeans)
Sole Society: 30% off all shoes and select accessories (my favorite booties are on sale!)
Ruche: 30% off sitewide with code BLKFRDY (great holiday dress here and here)
Threadsence: 30% off sitewide with code BLACK30 (love this sweater!)
Baublebar: 30% off sitewide with code THX (pretty little something under $25)
Forever21: select items up to 70% off

Gifts for Her Under $30

You got a big heart and you just want to get everyone a little something because tis the season to show people how much you care. While it's easy to break the bank doing that, I've found some things that I've had on my eye but would be amazing gifts all under $30! These also make for good stocking stuffers or extra gifts to keep on hand in case you get an unexpected guest.

plaid blanket scarf $18 // scarves seem like your typical gift, but this is a big cozy blanket scarf and comes in such great neutrals (also in a black plaid) that will make you look like a big spender

mini lipgloss set $24 // who doesn't love anything mini? plus, these are great to test out some new colors and sheer enough to look good on just about anyone.

tea cup (set of 2) $8 + earl grey tea $20 // I love giving things I personally use! This earl grey creme tea is definitely more than what I would pay for tea, but it's SO good! Paired with a pretty tea cup set  (yess, you get 2 for $8), it's a thoughtful and personal gift all under budget.

moscow mule mug $10 each // this is for your gal that loves a good cocktail and probably will make her other half happy too. maybe it's the shine that makes them extra special, but this mug is fancy and just $10. So grab 2 and make a set!

sparkly earring jackets $5 + prism jewelry holder $15 // the shape and gold just really make this chic and at $15 you certainly can toss in some sparkly earrings!

alexi and ani bracelet $28 // these come in all kinds of charms and have different meanings so you can find the perfect one to personalize it to each gal on your list.

floral planner $28 // this is for your goal getter! it's pretty on the outside and has quirky touches on the inside but completely functional!

The Perfect At-Home Blowout

With the holiday's literally right around the corner, there's so many events and parties happening. I know my stress levels are already running a little high with that thought. And that means that pretty dress needs pretty hair. While I'm not going to lie, I'm thee laziest when it comes to doing my hair. There's just so much. I know that's suppose to be a good thing, but ain't nobody got time for that! I used to give up and just go straight to Dry Bar, but let's be real that can get expensive real fast. But let me tell ya there is hope! If I can do it, so can you.

1. Upgrade your blow dryer! Anyone else just think it was your hairdress who just worked her magic on your hair not the blow dryer? That was me. Yup, I used to think all blow dryers were the same. Then, I upgraded and it's drastically changed my hair results. From less drying time and frizz (yesss), I've had amazing hair days using the 1907 by Fromm dryer.

2. Section your hair. You'll never get all those hidden spots by not sectioning. I tend to do three. Section the top half from the bottom half. Then, I section the top half into two.

3. Protect your hair. We all know heat on your hair is no bueno, so one of my all time favorite serums that also cuts on frizz (double win!) is Aveda's smooth infusion. I put this on before I start blow drying.

4. Use a thermal brush. This goes back to that whole better blow dryer idea here. Having a great thermal brush will allow more air in to cut time and help style. I've been using this 1907 Fromm square thermal brush to help get the perfect bouncy ends that my hairstylist would be proud of.

Cheers to a season of good hair days!

Thanks to Fromm for sponsoring this post.

3 Ways to Style Blanket Scarves + Linkup!

1. Wear it like a regular scarf: fold in half in width, then fold that in half in length, and then loop around your neck.

2. Wear it as a shawl! It's basically the socially acceptable way of walking around with a blanket.

3. Belt that scarf! Let's face it, blanket scarves are well big. So create a little definition and look extra cozy. Bonus points for looking like you really took extra time to look like you're trying hard.

Here are a few blanket scarves I'm loving:

Pssst! Take a look at last year's outfit here! It's something that I would have a hard time figuring out it's from last year because it's really on trend this year too! Don't forget to linkup!

What I Wish I was Wearing

It really is sweater weather in LA and it has me dreaming up fall looks. While I already have this jean skirt (styled here) and love, I'm trying to keep wearing it as temps drop. Maybe it's an excuse to finally take the plunge and pick up those otk boots that I basically cannot stop thinking about.

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linkup #21

You can say this is a continuation from yesterday's post about travel bags. Today I'm sharing my easy recipe for a travel outfit. Many many moons ago the bf and I were long distance and that meant lots of plane rides for years, which lead me to figure out what makes for a great travel outfit that's still stylish. You don't want to fuss with your outfit, but you certainly want to make it through TSA easy pesy. Oh and you need to factor in cold plane rides and looking nice when you land off that plane (hello, girls gotta eat asap).

Travel outfit recipe=neutral jacket that goes with tons you packed + simple cozy top + favorite jeans + slip on shoes.

But seriously cannot stress that jacket and slip on shoes and keeping it simple. No jewelry or anything that sets off security. You'll thank yourself later. I normally would keep my jacket in my weekender before going through TSA just to speed up the process and prevent forgetting anything at security. You guys no joke, but I've left my laptop at TSA and flew home before realizing it. #heartattack I got it back, but the point is try to keep everything together in your bag.

Now, don't think I forgot about our flashback! This top is one that I love! The faux leather mixed with the print really just takes it to a new level! You can see the full look here.
Thank you for linking up with every week! We love seeing all your posts!

My Favorite Travel Bags Under $100

It's crazy to think the holiday season is right around the corner and with that means lots of traveling ahead for some of us. I've been gearing up for a couple of shorter trips and prefer taking a carry on rather than checking in. I'm one of those paranoid people who get's separation anxiety with my suitcase. And there's nothing like traveling with the worst bag and suitcase. So I got you covered with some really affordable options that aren't bad on the eyes! I just picked up this large tassel weekender and love the subtle shimmer it has. Oh, and it's SO roomy and under $100! Last year, I picked up this oxblood weekender and is still available in so many colors too. My favorite part is the zippered compartment to keep shoes organized. Anyway, here are my favorite travel bags under $100:

Grey and Tan

Can I just point out that there are no prints in this outfit and this print lover is more than okay? Yeah, I'm actually obsessed with how great grey and tan look! And naturally I had to celebrate this new found discovery by going to brunch and eat yummy french toast. It's the right thing to do. Too bad I didn't get any pictures because someone forgot their phone. Guess I have to go back soon:) So besides taking some time to come terms with how I can be okay without wearing a print, I finally found the perfect suede skirt. Well, I actually went with faux suede. Here's the thing, I'm pescatarian and have these mix feelings about wearing clothes that are real leather and suede. Yes, those are suede shoes I'm wearing. Yes, I get that's weird I can wear shoes but not clothes. Anyway, I digress. If your on the hunt for a great suede skirt or faux, this skirt is perforated and ON SALE. I repeat it's ON SALE FOR UNDER $30! It's really a great looking option for the price, but just make sure to size down at least a size. The waist runs really big, which works well if you're a weekend bruncher like myself. #comfycute

Hope you had a nice weekend!

Flashback Fashion Friday's Linking #20

floral top // jean skirt (runs large) // tan hat (size medium) // purse (similar) // booties (sample sale find, but love these)

Happy Friday people! If I could hug Friday, I would. In the meantime, let's talk skirts. I don't what it is but I have really been into skirts. Okay, maybe it's because they really are having a moment and all over the internets. I had my eye on another jean skirt in addition to my button down jean skirt. Totally sold the second I put this free people skirt on. It has that good kind of stretch that makes the tush look ahhh-mazing! It does run big in the waist, so make sure to size down. Oh and clearly my latest obsession is this hat! Yup two posts in a row guys. It comes in 3 sizes and super affordable. Take that as a hint that I will be wearing it a lot around here.

And you know what time it is? It's flashback Friday time! You can never go wrong with a jean jacket and dress combo seen here. I have had that jacket for a few years now and wear it all year long. The dress though needs to be pulled out again. I really want to do a more bundled look with a bomber jacket, tights and boots.
Thank you for joining last week! We love having returning friends and new faces join in each week!

Feeling Like Fall

All my favorite Fall pieces that have been sitting pretty in my closet are rejoicing now. It's FINALLY feeling like Fall in LA. Seriously, I'm pulling out everything that screams layers. This oxblood jacket is no exception. I didn't know when I was going to be able to wear it, but the time has come and I find it goes with everrrything! If there's one thing I would say is my go-to in cooler months it's a good jacket. You probably will be seeing it a lot around here.

In other news, can I just say I'm officially hooked on Old Navy. This top (last seen here) and these jeans are some pieces that I cannot stop wearing. And we all know how much I love a good lace up flat so when I saw these restocked I just had to. Forget about picking nude or black because they are under $30 each-both it was!
