Dark Floral Dress

moto jacket // dress (similar) // booties // purse

Let's just say I've been waking up every day this week thinking it's one day ahead, so to say I was disappointed a lot this week would be an understatement. But you know what cures disappointment? A sale! Not just any sale, but one of the biggest sales at Madewell. I really should just give them my paycheck at this point. If you saw on Instagram, I was trying on the spring arrivals last weekend. They are just as good or even better in person. Anyway, the sale. It's up to 30% off with code 'NOTKIDDING' (gosh! I love their humor).  I'm breaking this down for you because there's so many great things.
Own and love:

New and might be on the way:

These are already on sale (extra savings):

Casual Weekend Outfit

long cardigan // top // jeans // espadrilles // purse // hat // sunglasses

My theory is that if I were all my casual weekend outfits it will make the weekend come faster. Totally wore this to work. I'm luck to have a really easy-going dress code. I'm still testing this theory out, but I'll report back. Either way, I'm all about wearing the heck out of my favorite staples. One that I need to get my hands (actually feet) on are more espadrilles. Last year I lived in these and sadly had to retire them. Not only are they comfortable, but go with tops and shorts and dresses. Here are a few that I have my eye on.

Now, let's flashback to last year's look here. If there's ever a color combination that always works, it's black and white. All these pieces have been worn so much. Actually, I need to replace the white jeans and really not looking forward to it. Anyone else rather go to the dentist than go white jeans shopping?

Thanks so much for linking up with us! Our picks are Ruth from The Little Nest and Alicia from Between the Pearls!

Bundled in the City + Linkup

coat (very old) // top // jeans // booties (similar) // scarf // hat (got got this version-so good!) // sunnies

As you know a couple of weeks ago, I headed to the Bay Area and let's just say I'm am a wimp when it comes to the cold. I took all measures to dress in layers and not look like I wore everything.single.thing.I.own. Think double shirts, pants, socks. Because I just can't do the cold. Turns out it was so wet and windy that weekend. Note to self: don't wear a hat unless you want to be fighting to keep it on (last picture is not posed). We literally walked, fought the rain/wind, and ate. And I have 24K steps to prove it. Anyway SF has sooo many great spots that I keep discovering new favorites. Here are my new one's:
  • Home-cute spot for coffee! Not only will you get a great looking picture, but they seriously taste AMAZING! We tried the famous rainbow latte, lavender latter, and cookie monster latte.
  • Boba Guys-totally lives up to the hype! Even though it was cold, I ordered a matcha and strawberry boba and still crave it!
  • Flores-perfect spot for Mexican food! This is the gourmet version. So expect lighter portions. But the ambiance and food are on par.
These really are all over the city, but all worth it! If you ever need suggestions, let me know or read this post :)
Okay, now let's have a looksy at last year's look. All about putting those basics together and just never getting old. I'm thinking I need to re-wear this look maybe tomorrow.

Thank you so much for linking up with us! We look forward to seeing your outfits! Our picks this week are Katie from Hello Katie Girl and Abby from Life in the Fash Lane!

It's in the Details + Linkup

sweater (under $20!) // jeans // booties // sunglasses // ring c/o

Reworking my mind-frame around what I buy and focusing on pieces that are more than a 'one-day cute outfit' has been one of the best decisions. Rather than having tons of pieces that hopefully work with what's in my closet, I now have a bunch of things that go together. It's about finding special cuts and details that create visual interest. The cutouts and ruffle on this blush sweater has enough detail without being over the top, still can be worn so many ways and super affordable. Just because a girl wants to invest in neutrals doesn't mean it has to be expensive. However, it's about knowing when to splurge. This cute ring is one of those items that falls into the splurge category. Dainty pieces are timeless (if you ask me) and so versatile for layering. It's from Mejuri who's line is simple, modern and interchangeable. I'm thinking this and this would look great stacked together.

What are the items you are willing to splurge on?

Thanks for linking up! Our picks are C's Evolution of Style and Eat Pray Wear.

Bell-Sleeve Stripes + Linkup

Stripe top (size xxs, on sale) // Jeans // Booties // Jacket // Hat (similar, similar) // Sunnies

It's official. I haven't met a stripe oversized top that doesn't get my heart singing. A few weeks (see here), I tried this bell-sleeve stripe top on. I held back because a) I have enough stripes and b) it was full priced. Those few weeks gave me enough time for the universe to hear me. It went on sale and sits in my closet nicely. Well, except when I pretend I'm a professional bruncher on weekends. It's oversized in the best way. The kind that hides any traces of pancakes and quiches. Anyway, I plan to do as much eating and matcha drinking this weekend for a little trip to San Francisco. Pretty sure this top will be coming, too. Oh, I know everyone is going craazzzy for the Shopbop sale, but Madewell is doing 15% off e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g (hint, hint this top is on extra sale). How cute is this tshirt

Okay, time to flashback to last years look here. It's an outfit that has all the basics you can't go wrong with. Bonus points for being one of those outfits that you know you can look at year after year and not cringe (you know what I mean).

Thank you for linking up with us! So so many cute outfits! Our picks this week are Amy Ann from Straight A Style and Sarah from Trendy and Tidy!
