The Perfect At-Home Blowout

 With the holiday's literally right around the corner, there's so many events and parties happening. I know my stress levels are already running a little high with that thought. And that means that pretty dress needs pretty hair. While I'm not going to lie, I'm thee laziest when it comes to doing my hair. There's just so much. I know that's suppose to be a good thing, but ain't nobody got time for that! I used to give up and just go straight to Dry Bar, but let's be real that can get expensive real fast. But let me tell ya there is hope! If I can do it, so can you.

1. Upgrade your blow dryer! Anyone else just think it was your hairdress who just worked her magic on your hair not the blow dryer? That was me. Yup, I used to think all blow dryers were the same. Then, I upgraded and it's drastically changed my hair results. From less drying time and frizz (yesss), I've had amazing hair days using the 1907 by Fromm dryer.

2. Section your hair. You'll never get all those hidden spots by not sectioning. I tend to do three. Section the top half from the bottom half. Then, I section the top half into two.

3. Protect your hair. We all know heat on your hair is no bueno, so one of my all time favorite serums that also cuts on frizz (double win!) is Aveda's smooth infusion. I put this on before I start blow drying.

4. Use a thermal brush. This goes back to that whole better blow dryer idea here. Having a great thermal brush will allow more air in to cut time and help style. I've been using this 1907 Fromm square thermal brush to help get the perfect bouncy ends that my hairstylist would be proud of.

Easy Beach Waves with Irresistible Me

 

I'll be the first to admit, I cannot curl my hair to save my life. Well that is until I tried this new curling wand from Irresistible Me. I picked out the Sapphire 8 in 1 complete curling wand because I had no clue which size wand would work. Since it comes with 8 different size wands that are detachable, I figured one of them was bound to work, riiight? Turns out the first one I picked worked (as seen in the first picture). You don't even know how happy this made me! Now speaking for all you ladies who either have zero luck curling your hair and or have really thick hair, this is your answer to your prayers. My curls not only held up without any hairspray, but lasted (don't cringe) a whole week. I'm a firm believer in dry shampoo. I'm really excited to try the other size wands and will report back. And a big thank you to my friend/photographer who was willing to sit in a cramped bathroom for an hour to take these pictures. Our relationship has been taken to a whole new level. 

3 Braided Bun Updo

 I really wish I could say I was one of those gals that loves styling their hair in the Summer. Do they really exist? Because in my house curling irons and blow dryers are basically a dirty four letter word during these scorching hot days.  Anyway if you're looking for a lazy girl hairstyle that looks cute, keeps you cool, and gives you pretty waves, then you must try this 3 braided bun updo. The best part is that it actually works really well with wet hair in case you want to sleep in it or have no time to blow dry air dry your hair.

You need:

3 plastic rubber bands

6-10 bobby pins

1. Grab a third of your hair for the first braided bun. I pulled the hair back leaving no part.

2. Doing a 3 stranded braid, braid the section of hair directly in the back middle. No need to be perfect. Tie off with rubber band.

3. Take the braid and wrap it in a bun.

4. Secure the bun with bobby pins.

5. Grab half the remaining loose hair and braid.

6. Take the second braid and wrap in a bun shape.

7. Secure braid with bobby pins.

8. Take the remaining hair and create the last braid.

9. Wrap braid into a bun and secure with bobby pins.

And DONE!

Pretty hair in under 10 minutes and then you have nice wavy hair the next day. #twofer

3 Tier Topsy Ponytail

You have five minutes for your hair? Perfect! This style is my go-to when all I have is five minutes and want it to look like I actually tried really hard to do my hair. It's so easy that I've mastered doing this in my car without a mirror. And you know what? People will stop you to comment on how cute your hair looks. Oh, and it might even win over your boyfriend. Yeah, all true.

All you need is 3 plastic rubber bands (for you brunettes there's brown tinted one's bought at Target) and a regular hair tie.

1. Part your hair where you like and grab a section from each side.
2. Tie the pieces with a small plastic rubber band
3. Flip over for the first topsy. I prefer to flip it twice to get that extra twisted look.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the next two layers.
5. Once you have all 3 topsy ponytails, use your regular ponytail rubber band to secure all the hair at the base.
6. Take a piece from underneath the ponytail and wrap it around the rubber band to cover it and just tuck in the strand or bobby pin it.
