Thankful

Well this might not be my Thanksgiving outfit, I do have plenty to be thankful for. For starters, I'm pretty darn thankful I didn't spill that much tomato soup all over this dress at lunch this week. (note to self: don't eat tomato soup when wearing white) But really I do have plenty to be thankful for besides my dress surviving lunch. Let's just say it's a long list. Now go back to eating delicious food.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration

I feel like I have to talk about my hair first. I got brave over the weekend and did a little snip snip. I don't know why I tend to go shorter when it's colder and longer during the warmer months. It was just time for a change.

Now let's talk about the outfit. While everyone is probably figuring out their Thanksgiving plans, you can't forget about what you're going to wear. Don't get me wrong the food is a big deal. But more than likely there will be pictures of this for years to come so might as well look cute. So I teamed up with Kallie from But First Coffee to bring you some inspiration to complete your Thanksgiving look. Not only does Kallie have a great blog full of inspiration, she has some amazing makeup looks that are very doable. Head over to see her full post for a great holiday makeup look here. But here's a peek! So pretty, right? I know!

For my look, I went with a casual sweatshirt dress. (yes, I caved and got a grey sweater dress. It's similar to the one from my cravings post this week but at half the price!) But it works as a great base for creating a stylish and comfortable outfit. The shape is relaxed making it forgiving for a day of lots of eating and moving around. Layer it under a plaid shirt for warmth and pop some fun accessories to complete the look. Is this a look you see yourself wearing?

Daytime Sequins

Bare legs in November. Yep, that's happening. And I just had to thank the weather gods here in LA by bringing out my new sequin skirt. It's an instant mood booster, too. While it definitely catches people's eye at the gas station, I can't say they completely understood my look. But clearly sequins are a perfect casual day look. It also makes pumping gas more glamorous or at least I like to tell myself that.

Anyways, more about styling sequins for day. The key is really to keep everything else neutral and minimal. Chambray and I swear by a grey tee are great pieces that really downplay the sequins. Other great options would be a military jacket or simple sweater. Is this a look you would try?

P.s. I hope you're not tired of grey around here. It probably will be making it's way into more outfits soon.

Craving Lately: Grey

Grey sweaters, dresses, pants, and anything in between-I'll take one of each! My full on addiction to grey has completely taken over. During the warmer months, it was just a simple grey tee that I couldn't stop wearing and still can't. But now it's blown over in to an addiction that could potentially be taking over my closet. Well, at least I can justify my craving knowing I will be wearing these pieces for years to come, right? Right!

Girls Night

Maybe calling it Girls Night sounds like a pretty wild night and should actually just be renamed Margarita Night. Someone suggests grabbing a margarita and it's on! And well you can't have a margarita without lots and lots of chips and salsa (well at least I can't) so enters the perfect pants-boyfriend jeans! They let you eat and eat away. Looks like these just became the contender for Thanksgiving.

Hope you had a great week! Yay for the weekend!

Boho Vibes

Well it's not completely feeling like Fall here in LA (temps in the 80's-not a complaint), this grey hat is giving my outfit a dose of Fall. I've never really been a hat person, but I feel that could be changing. What hasn't changed is my love for a good flowy top. This cream top (yes, it looks white) has been on repeat and it's under $20! Grab it while you can! Expect to see it a lot. Consider yourself warned.

Faux Casual

With leather being one of biggest Fall trends, I knew I definitely had to try it out but not in my usual ways. From leather pants, vests, subtle details, it was a (faux) leather skirt was calling my name! It's a perfect way to add texture and dimension this Fall. This Free People skirt is fun and flirty which really tones down the tough vibe leather usually gives. I've dressed it up with an embellished top and black booties, but dressing it down has proved it's versatility.

Craving Lately: Black Jumpsuits

Lately I have been drawn to simple and minimal outfits and neutrals. A black jumpsuit fits this to a T! It's a piece that I know you put on and it's instant style. Perfect for those days that you're short on time and want to look like you got it together. My quest to find the right black jumpsuit is still on the hunt. It's all about fit! And maybe budget friendly. But this one and this other one seem like promising options that my wallet can rest easy about.

Comfy Layers

You know those days when all you want to do is stay in your pj's but you can't? Well, this is my attempt at staying in my pj's without anyone knowing. A comfy over-sized thermal (yes it's one I wear to bed and maybe was worn the night before) is perfect for staying warm and still in pj's. The key is in the rest of the outfit like a leather jacket and accessories. Before leaving the house, everyone kept saying 'where are you going?' It's a fool proof look!
