July Highlights

Hey Summer won't you slow down?! Anyone else with me here? Crazy to think it's the last day of July, but it's always fun to look back and see all the things that happened in the month. Thank goodness for Instagram because I know exactly what happened. Here are some tidbits:

-Discovered telanti gelato at Target and I'm pretty sure that's a single serving.
-The cutest house in the neighborhood by my yoga studio (gotta burn the ice cream off)
-Headed out to shoot with Marissa for this post.
-A little behind the scenes action.
-Lemonade from Lemonade that matches my nail polish. #trendsetter
-Pretty pastries from my favorite coffee shop. I want one of each!
-This amazing West Kim mural that Marissa shot will always be a favorite.
-My favorite guy and I at our friend's spontaneous Thursday wedding in Tuscon!
-Kicking my feet up at my glorious shoe miracle! (aka sold out Vince espadrilles)

Lessons from July: I like love my sweets! July you couldn't have been any better! If you're on Instagram, which I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to be, you can follow me @AdriLately

Embroidered Shift Dress + Giveaway

I don't know about you, but this Summer is all about amazing embroidery and I'm o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d! When I saw this embroidered shift dress from Pink Blush, I knew it would be a great piece to wear during these warm days. Have you heard of Pink Blush? Well not only do they have cute dresses, but so many things you'll immediately want to add to your closet and your wallet won't break the bank either. Total win, right?

Now let's talk about the dress because it's just that good. It's even lined so no worries about it being see through. One of the reasons I love embroidery in the Summer is the fact that it acts as an accessory. And honestly wearing a statement necklace in the Summer heat is not my thing. I know not everyone is a fan of shift dresses and I get it, but adding a jacket or even belting it can give it a whole new look.

You know what's even better? A giveaway! I mean that is the best way to get through a Wednesday if you ask me. Pink Blush is offering one lucky reader $25 to their shop! Good luck!

P.S if you can't wait, you can take 15% off with code ADRILATELY15

CgC Daily Contributor

You might be surprised to see me in something a little more office appropriate, but that's because I'm now a regular contributor for CgC Daily, an online publication that offers everything from fashion to business for the working gal. This look is my first for CgC Daily about the modern white shirt. While I don't have to dress for your typical office, I love challenging my style skills and coming up with looks to make it easier for you 9 to 5 ladies. You can see my white shirt article here. If you have any office style questions you'd like me to cover, let me know!                                                  Thanks so much for stopping by! xoHere are some great lace pencil skirts:

Navy and Black

Free People hat (love this)/ Threadsence dress (similar)/ Vince espadrilles via TJ Maxx
Ever since I saw these Vince sandals, I just couldn't get them out of my head. But even if I wanted them they were sold out e-v-e-r-y where online (not that I wanted to pay $250). Then I saw an identical pair from Topshop, but again they were sold out. So I just let it go and figured it just wasn't meant to be. Weeks went by and I popped into my local TJ Maxx with a birthday gift card in hand, which honestly wasn't looking to promising that day. After searching everything and I mean everything except the shoes, I figured what the heck. And there they were my sold out Vince espadrilles in size 7! That's my size in case you were wondering. Not only did I feel like the shoe gods were blessing me, but they were on clearance. Just had to pay the tax and my dream espadrilles were all MINE! Shoe miracles do happen!

Do you have a miracle shopping story? I'd love to hear!

Below are some cute espadrilles:

Craving Lately: White Embroidered Dress

cute white embroidered dress
For the past few months, I've been stalking this Free People embroidered dress. It's seriously is everything I could ever want-effortless and amazing embroidery. Oh and the back of the dress is pretty sweet too! Well everything but the price tag that is. It's taken a lot for me to say no, but sometimes when you come to terms with it not happening miracles just show up. I was glancing over at Pinterest and what do I see? A dress pretty much identical to my dream dress. I really have been on a white and blue embroidery kick (see here) and consider that a warning of what's to come. Now the only question is do I hit click on my Chicwish shopping cart?

Happy Friday!!!

Adore Me Unboxing

A few months back I was introduced to Adore Me, a lingerie and underwear company, and have to say there's nothing like getting a pretty matching bra and undies in the mail. Being that my girls are small, finding my size can be discouraging but Adore Me carries it. They actually carry a lot of sizes. Sets are starting at $24.95 with free shipping and returns. Several weeks back they contacted me to let me know they redid their packaging and sent me this lavender bra set. Now they come in these cute boxes! And I certainly can't resist cute packaging!

Have you tried Adore Me?

Rompers I have to say I've had a change of heart. Sure you can be the worst when it's potty time. Nothing like sitting on a toilet half naked. But I can say you've proved to be my go-to this summer. You're impracticality has been outweighed by keeping me perfectly stylish and comfortable during those sweaty days. And can we talk about how this floral romper makes for the best road trip attire? It sure did! I brought so many outfits for our trip to the dessert and reached for this romper half the time there. The key is the loose fit and print. So pack a romper for your next getaway and thank me later.

Here are a few more of my favorite rompers at the moment:

How to Shop at Forever 21

how to shop at forever 21

I'm not going to lie here, but I've done plenty of research over the years for this post. I'm talking hours and hours. Okay, I'm just an avid and very enthusiastic Forever 21 shopper. But I really do think there's a strategy to it. I know it can be overwhelming with these massive overflowing stores and pop music blasting, which honestly I can't help but love! And without these 3 tips I'm like a kid in a candy store.
3 tips to shopping at Forever 21
1. Pre-shop online: Can we just say this is a game changer?! It totally is. Everything is neatly on your screen and cuts down on the overwhelm when you physically shop. A lot of times I start by looking online before I step inside the actual store. You get a sense of most of the items available and helps you get a game plan of things to keep on eye out for.

2. Have a game plan: If you do browse online, it definitely makes your shopping game plan much easier. The place is amazing for having tons of trendy items and just about everything in between, which I get can be overwhelming. Exactly why you should know why you are stepping into that music cranking overflowing store. If it's the latest trendy pair of pants in orange, than you can easily filter through like a champ!

3. Go at the right time: Like I said I've done my research for this. I've gone at all the hours of the day-well all hours the mall is open. But you know that saying the early bird gets the worm? It definitely makes sense when shopping at Forever 21. Everything is clean, neatly organized, and employees are usually the most helpful. Plus, you usually have the place pretty much to yourself.

Hope these tips help make navigating Forever 21 easier and fun!

Wedding Guest Dress

Well this pretty shift dress has been sitting patiently for me to wear and honestly had no intention of wearing it to a wedding. I mean I had no upcoming weddings to attend and I'm not big on crashing weddings. But all of a sudden last minute an invite dropped in my hands for some special friends for their wedding the next day. These love birds just couldn't wait a minute longer and just like that we made the 8 hour drive for this one of a kind wedding. Truly a magical experience!

Hope you had a great weekend! xo

Black + Tan

When Marissa and I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago for a special project to be revealed soon, I remember feeling such excitement and happiness with getting to see this mural by a local artist name West Kim. Again, the amazing Marissa does it again. And these pictures couldn't be more perfect right this moment. Life has me full of joy and I'm bursting with excitement. Follow along on Instagram to find out!

Now let's talk some style because this is a style blog. I never really wear black and tan, but it just sort of happened and clearly on the right day because this wall is amazing! The take away-pairing two neutrals together is effortless and always oh so chic.

Thanks so much for stopping by! xo

I know another set of pictures with this outfit. I promise this is the last set. But I mean can you really blame me for not wanting to post these? Did you see that cute little European car and this bridge? I even felt like I just might be in France. You honestly would think Marissa, the lady behind the lens, was the LA native. But she was able to keep taking me to spot after spot. This LA girl was given a tour in her own backyard.

Hope you're having a great week! xo

Bastille Day-Part 2

Continuing with the next set of photos from my fun shoot with Marissa and our Bastille theme, we strolled down the street to find the perfect striped wall. I was doing my best to savor this iced latte because it was scorching outside! It's funny how I bought this blue pleated skirt years ago thinking that it wouldn't get much use, but I was so so wrong. If you don't have a pleated skirt, you should try one!

Here are some great options for pleated skirts:
