Traveling in Stripes + Linkup

stripe top (size small) // cardigan // jeans // espadrilles // aviators

My trip to Portland came and went really fast. I guess that's any vacation really. But if there's one outfit that sums up my style for the trip this would be it. Portland has such a casual vibe and cooler Summers than I'm used to. If you saw on Instagram, you know how much I loved this stripe top. Sometimes I have to stop myself from buying another stripe top, but the cutouts on this one make it a clear yessss. It comes in a few colors and currently on sale. I'm thinking I should pick it up in several colors. And if there's one pair of shoes you should buy it's these Soludos espadrilles. Let me tell ya I walked ALL over Portland day after day and didn't have any issues. I loved them for my last trip this year and this just confirms they are amazing travel shoes.

Now let's flashback to last year's look here. It's another casual look. I haven't worn this exact outfit together again, but I reach for these pieces all the time!

Thank you so much for linking up with us each week! Our picks are Lydia from Chic on the Cheap and Meghan from MC Squared!

Packing Light + Linkup

Well I'm Portland bound and no matter how many times I tell myself that I'll back in time, I just don't. Truthfully, this trip just snuck up on me. Plus, who books a flight for 6 am at the airport waaay across town? All eyes on the boyfriend. Even though I never feel fully prepared for packing, I've become a frantic pro at just packing a carry-on luggage. I only recommend that if you are doing 4-5 days. Here are my tried and true tips for packing light (after you calm down):

1. Pick basics: You don't have much space, so everything in that luggage is prime real estate. You need 90% of everything to go with everything else.

2. Limit shoes: I know, I know. Shoes can make or break an outfit. But shoes take up sooo much space. I tend to stick to 2 pairs inside and the most bulky on my feet. Again, you're better off with neutral colored so they will go with everything.

3. Pick a fun item: It's really hard for me to let go of wanting to wear something fun and exciting for a trip. So think of it as your reward for sticking to packing light and find that one item that's bold, bright, or printed to take.

4. Be real: Many times I gone shopping right before the trip and try to savor the items by not wearing them prior to the trip. Don't do that! You want and really need everything to be comfortable. The worst thing is finding out while on vacation that something is really uncomfortable or a terrible fit.

If you been to Portland, let me know where I should visit. I'm coming with a blank itinerary. I'll be snapping away so follow on Snapchat (username: AdriLately).

Recent Buys Under $100

Middle row: fringe sandals $80 // lace up sandals $65 (on sale)
Bottom row: blue stripe top $27 // v-neck stripe shirt $40 (on sale) // ots black dress $45 (on major sale)

Neutrals, stripes, and everything nice is what I would say I've been adding to my closet lately. I have a tendency to wear the same things over and over, so finding variations of what I wear too much has been my goal when shopping. I'm still waiting for this and this to arrive, but I have a feeling it will be well received. Actually, most of these pieces will be making their way into my luggage for a fun trip this week. I'm really excited to wear the tie front dress and LBD (has pockets). I'm such a dress girl!

Have you found any good, fun basics you picked up recently?

Neutrally Eyelet + Linkup

black top  (on sale, size xs) // white jeans // espadrilles // aviators

Another week, another eyelet top. I really thought this wouldn't workout when I added into my shopping bag with my other eyelet top, but turns out I'm just addicted to eyelet. Really the back of this top is everrrything! Since I wore this out on the weekend, I went sans tank under. For work (because yes I've worn this multiple times already), I put a nude tank. The sizing does seem big, which honestly seem like all of Madewell does.

Now let's flashback to last year's look here. Well I have to say I've stayed away from rompers this Summer. This one is really comfy. But I still love that tote. It's my everyday bag still to this day.
Thank you guys so much for linking up! This week we loved Lee from LegalLee Blonde and Ashley from Le Stylo Rouge! Make sure to stop by Jessica's to see their amazing outfits.

12 Denim Dresses Under $100

The more we go into Summer, the simpler I want my outfits to be. I've already confessed my love for denim here. But a good denim dress goes a long way during Summer. Perfect for any vacations! It's easy and looks effortless even if you are melting in the heat. I can't help but keep adding more and more to my closet. There's so many styles to pick from and I love the different shapes. I've rounded up 12 of my favorite all under $100 and LOVE this one (under $45 guys)!

Denim Girl + Linkup

top (sold out, almost identical) // skinny jeans // sandals (old, similar) // purse (obsessed!) // neck scarf

Denim. What can I say? Only that you are my BFF these days. Oh and you too off-the-shoulder! Can't forget you! I got this top (actually it's a dress that feels too short) several weeks back and it's been gloomy whenever I want to wear it. But it wasn't this past weekend. Thank you weather gods for making this outfit possible! And you guys I just can't stop wanting more denim pieces in my closet. I'm on the cusp of ordering this dress now that it's on sale. Yay or nay ladies?

Now let's flashback to last year's look here. Annnd funny enough I'm wearing the same jeans. I'm surprised by how well Old Navy jeans have lasted! But this top is one that's perfect for Summer and is from Ruche, which if you haven't heard has just reopened! It started by a woman just following her dream and glad to see she was able to reopen it!
Thanks for linking up with Jessica and I! Remember to linkup because it's better with you and we are featuring our two favorites each week! Yesss, you can be featured! We loved Kim from The Knotted Chain and Candace from The Beauty Beau!
