Travel Style + Linkup

Happy last day of March! We're in Costa Rica! Boyfriend and I took a red eye this morning and will be spending the next 5 days hanging out with our Costa Rican friends. I've mentioned I've been here before years ago, but boyfriend hasn't. But the best part is we get to see everything from a locals perspective. Today, we'll be in the city and heading to the beach tomorrow. Anyway, I'm hoping with wifi that I can Snapchat and Instagram everrrrything. Okay, not everything, but a lot. You can follow along (user name AdriLately

And I need to give these Soludos' slippers the highlight they deserve. It's my first pair and not my last. They did need a little breaking in, but they are comfy. But the best part is I've spilled water and coffee on them and you can't tell! So even if you aren't traveling, they are amazing!

Now, it's time to flashback to last year's look. While I have been feeling more neutrals, I still have and wear this top. I love the boxy shape! These Gap boyfriend jeans are those perfect pants the days you don't want to wear pants, but well have to.
Thank you for joining last week! Jessica and I love having each and everyone of you!

Spend or Save: Beach Edition

Kimono : spend, save // Swimsuit : spend, save // Gladiators : spend, save

The second I booked our tickets to Costa Rica, I immediately had to put the breaks on wanting to buy everrrything! And especially anything beach related until this month I gave myself the green light. Now, I started to find some amazing pieces, but what made sense to spend on or save on? The good news is that there are so many options at both prices. So what do you think I spent and saved on?

Vacation Vibes + Linkup

swimsuit // espadrilles (run small) // hat

It's been a long time coming since the last time I left the country and it feels surreal that my trip to Costa Rica is a week away! But really the process of actually why and the how that adds to it all. This trip wouldn't be happening if my first trip 6 years ago never happened. Sometimes you talk to a complete stranger and never think much of it, just a genuine interest in that person at that moment in time. I just happened to talk to the right person because we clicked and we've been friends ever since. We've met up all over the US in these 6 years, but this is my first time revisiting. I can't wait! Aaaand I've been picking out what I want to bring. Hi, cute dress! Even though I'm a beach girl, I rarely wear a swimsuit. So when in Costa Rica....

Mostly Black and White

The past four weeks have been go, go, go and I really was ready to take it slow this weekend. I guess getting a throat infection will also get you to slow down. But I decided not to let it slow me down that much. There was very important food consumption to be done. I can't say no to food. You're probably wondering how could I get the food down with a throat infection, but it's with careful selection it was fine. It's not often that your anniversary lands on a Saturday and we've had this restaurant on our list f o r e v e r. #noregrets

Also, my Costa Rica trip is coming up sooo fast! 10 days to go and I'm trying to be super selective about the clothes I take, aiming for only a carry on. I'm thinking one really versatile dress that can go from beach to dinner to city. Anyone have any suggestions?

Double Denim + Linkup

I think I might say this evvvery Friday, but it's F R I D A Y! It's been rough transitioning into this new job, well the balancing part. And everytime I think I've got it down turns out I don't. #ProjectLife Oh, and daylight's saving has still got me off. Is that just me? But I was able to squeeze in a haircut and color. Annnd I'm trying to prep for my Costa Rica trip coming in less than 2 weeks. It just hit me as I typed that sentence. 2 weeks! And when I say prepping I mean picking up my passport tomorrow from the Passport Agency because I barely renewed it. FYI your passport actually expires 6 months before the date it shows on your passport. Go read that sentence again and then go check your passport. You don't want to be the lady I met who should have been in Paris instead of trying to renew her passport and board her plane the same day.

Let's flashback to last year's look here. Actually, you might remember it from last week's. Opps! I used the wrong one, soo...yeah I'm a little off.
Thanks for linking up! We hope you'll join in this week!

Grey and Cognac + Linkup

Happy Friday! It is Friday, right? Honestly, I really can't tell what day is which this week. And that blog life where you take pictures has been almost zero. Thank goodness for my co-worker who was willing to snap this one on our way to grab coffee. Coffee has been the norm this week or what I like to call exploring all coffee shops near the office. Anyway, this look is all repeats of pieces I can't get enough of. Because grey and cognac are so good together!

Now, let's flashback to last year's look here. I can't believe this was already a year ago. My friend who was getting married and I went to a super cute wedding planning event where you had to wear all white. Now, I'm gearing up for my best friend's wedding this year. What a year can do!
Jessica and I hope you'll join the linkup! We love seeing all your cute looks and really get so inspired!

Best Nude Lipsticks for Olive Skin

It's not until recently that I've become a lipstick lover. I guess you can say I'm a late bloomer when it comes to makeup, but it's when I discovered the nude lipstick look it had my name a l l over that. And let's face it-not all nude lipsticks are the same! Now, let's toss in olive skin and it's been slightly trickier. I didn't want anything that was lighter than my actual skin color and these 3 definitely pass the test.
This was my very first introduction to nudes. Shanghai Spice has a peachy, coral hint to it and has sheer coverage. Sometimes I layer it on top of my third pick, Nars in Barbara.
Let's be real almost errrybody and there mom probably has heard about Velvet Teddy, but it's great on olive skin. It's not too light and not too dark. And call me crazy but it has a coconut smell to it that I'm perfectly okay with.

Oh, Barbara! Nars lipstick in Barbara subtle difference but my go-to for everyday when I want a little difference from my natural lip color. I would say this one you do need to play up the eyes more or you can look washed out.

Do you have any favorite nude lip colors? I'm always on the hunt for another great one!

Vacation Vibes + Linkup

Jacket // striped tee (under $10!) // skirt // espadrilles (old, just got these) // tote // hat (under $30) // aviators

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself with this look, but I've got my big vacation to Costa Rica on my mind and I'm starting to dress for it. Actually, this might just be the best idea. I  have every intention of only packing a carry on and this just might help me figure out my tiny 5 day capsule wardrobe (I know it's ambitious). You know instead of scrambling hours before your trip to pack. If there's one thing I learned from the last time I went, it's make sure to pack a pair of jeans. Turns out it rained quite a bit and ended up buying expensive jeans that didn't fit. So far I've picked up these leather espadrilles, but know they will be great afterwards or before. Do you have anything you think I should pack?

Now, it's time to flashback to last year's look! It's all items that I would and have worn recently. Ehh hemm that jacket is on as I type. You can see the full post here.
Thank you for joining us last week! We hope you'll join this week!

The Essentials

Just give me all the basics! It's essentially all I've been living in. And this blue and white combo has me ready for Spring! Plus, you can never go wrong with a good chambray shirt. This one is from Garnett Hill and has a nice medium wash that I can wear to work or on the weekend. But was perfect for a blogger date with Jessica

Now, I might not be a Sole Society employee anymore, but I have to talk about these block sandals because t h e r e B A C K! Let's just say I know how things go inventory wise and they sold out really fast last year and this is the first full restock of them since last year. So consider this your warning to grab them while you can. I'm thinking I need the flat sandal version for my upcoming trip to Costa Rica....maybe.

Happy Tuesday!
