New Madewell Markdowns

tank (runs TTS) just $39.99

We all know my love (some might call it obsession) with Madewell. And I won't deny my love for the brand. One section I check more than I would like to admit is their sale section. It's a good day when I see new items have been added, especially if I have been holding out on them. There's so many new items added and quite a few I own. These are all pieces that are on heavy rotation and had to share with you.

top (TTS but size up if you have broad shoulders)

Okay, this one I haven't had a chance to take pictures of. It is roomy in the body, so looks best if you tuck in. If you're pregnant, this would work well with a growing bump. It also comes in a navy option that is even cheaper! Ughhh but that embroidery is just so good!

top (TTS) only $19.99!

This faux wrap floral top has been one I reach for weekly! It's a nice floral that works dressed for the office or with jeans. If I would recommend any of these tops, it would be this one. I mean it's so flattering and it's under $20-talk about a steal!

top (TTS)

Totally not joking about how flattering this style top is! I actually got it in this chambray version first. If you a Madewell fan, I'm sure you'll also an avid chambray collector. This is what I say is a fancy chambray top and is one of those no need to think about tops.

I realize all these are tops, but hey you can never have enough tops! Well, I basically live in a cute top + jeans. Anyway, all these are tops I can recommend/wear enough! So grab them while your size is available if you're on the hunt for some tops!

Here are some others that just hit the sale section:

My Favorite Natural Face Masks

organic face masks review

When it comes to taking care my skin, I'm all about a good face mask. It's an easy way to up level your skincare regime and see the benefits right away (if you have the right face mask). But hey I'm all about them being the solution to any of lifes problems. I think of it as the healthier option to happy hour. Over the past few months, I've been obsessively trying new face masks. I may have wanted to see what all the hype was, but after sorting through the hits and misses I've found 3 natural face mask I use on a weekly rotation.

natural face mask guide

Svati Organics Radiant Pink Clay Mask

Not only is Svati Organics using high quality ingredients that are safe, but it's woman founded with the mission to help send orphaned girls in India to school. The brand launched this year, but was one of the first mask that got me hooked. It isn't called Radiant for no reason. You'll find a mix of Moroccan lava clay, French Pink Clay, Hibiscus and Rosehip. It's a generous portion packaged in a sophisticated black glass jar. For a real treat, I mix the mask with serum to take it to the next level.

Cocokind Organic Chlorophyll Mask

Well this isn't the first time I talk about Cocokind (see here), it's budget-friendly, clean, and delivers. Anytime my skin seems off or I need to detox after a weekend of indulging, this is my face's best friend. If you're a green tea lover like myself, you'll want smell this all the time! It's made with Spirulina, wheatgrass, chlorohyll and ylang ylang. Depending on how much TLC your skin needs, you can add more powder and less water. Basically, you want a thicker mask for more blemishes/breakouts. I'll use this nightly until my skin clears up, which is usually 2-3 days.

Be Pure Beauty Theo Skin Balancing Face Wash + Mask

If you're looking for that natural glow, this mask won't let you down. It's a 2-in-1 item, either face wash or mask--total win! As a mask, you'll see you skin look revived and perked up. While it's not vegan, it contains honey. You will find it packed with 7 antioxidants-cacao, coconut milk, Moroccan red clay, honey, basil, elderberry and vanilla. And yes, you might want to eat this. It smells mostly like chocolate. If some of it accidentally ends up in your mouth, you'll be happy to know it's safe to eat ;)

Are you into face masks? Let me know your favorite.

Madewell Try-On's: Early Summer

madewell summer review 2018

Nothing makes my week better than Madewell dropping some new arrivals! And to be honest, it's been awhile since I've done a try on session on the blog. I have to say that the past couple of collections haven't been as good, but this one is giving me all the feels! It confirms my reason I initially fell in love with Madewell-updated basics and fun pieces you can wear over and over! Now, the question is when will summer arrive? Suddenly, LA has become gloomy.

Sidenote: all dresses and jumpsuits are currently 20% off with code: PRETTYPLEASE

EYELET SUNDRIFT RUFFLE TOP $74 // SIZE XXS

casual eyelet top and jeans

If there's one thing I can't resist, it's white eyelet for summer! It is oversized and I went with my smaller size. It's not lined, but with a nude bra on (like I have) it's an easy top for hot days. It passes the tuck in test. I styled it with their Perfect Summer Jeans and love the ease of this whole look!

Okay, I also cannot say no to black eyelet! This top is back from last year and totally need to grab it this year. Again, it's not lined. It is oversized, but couldn't see a difference from the next size up. I would only advice sizing up if your shoulders are broad. This is one of those tops you can easily wear to the office with a cami under and on the weekend. It is on the shorter side (not cropped), so best with high waist bottoms.

DENIM PINTUCK CAMI DRESS $128 // SIZE 0

One category Madewell hasn't been winning me over with is dresses. And the 5 year-old in me loves dresses! I had seen several bloggers post wearing this denim one and gave it a shot. I get it now. It's enough shape at the top, but flowy in the body (exactly what you want when it's so hot out). Again, I would size for your chest. I probably would have bought this if they had a smaller size. There is a black strawberry print one. Oh, and dresses are 20% off right now! Use code: PRETTYPLEASE

TEXTURE & THREAD BUTTERFLY SLEEVE TOP  (SHERBET STRIPE) $52 // SIZE XXS

OH-M-GEE! This top is mainly the reason I had to come in the store. It doesn't disappoint! The colors scream summer! There is texture to the material, which I can see some people not liking. It does make it casual, which fits my style 99% of the time. There is a blue/white option. The best part is it looks great out and tucked in, with blue or white jeans-SO many options! I tried it with these button front white jeans and the Perfect Summer Jeans

CHAMBRAY TIE-FRONT KEYHOLE CAMI TOP $58 // SIZE 00

I really didn't think I would love this top, but I was wrong. The fit is on point, which doesn't happen that often with my smaller bust. I did have to size down, because of my bust. Even with the cutout, you can still manage to wear a strapless bra. The adjustable straps and side zipper are all details I contribute to the good fit. So I would say size for your bust on this one. I couldn't resist pairing it with a good white jean. Again, I have summer on my mind.

Hope this try-on was helpful! Let me know your favorite!

Circle Bag Obsession

wrap top (size xs) // jeans // shoes (spring edition) // purse // sunglasses

Well I finally got a new purse, but lucky for you it's pretty much the same purse just in a bright fun color. You don't even want to know how long it took me to decide on finally pulling the trigger on it. My longtime friend actually bought it first and when we were in San Diego she would let me use it for photos (talk about friendship!). So I guess you can say she gave the final push to buy it. I know purses are something we use everyday and can be an investment, but it takes me so much thought and debating before I buy a new purse. Is anyone else like that? In all fairness, I will wear a purse everyday until it's done. Buying a bright colored purse is out of my comfort zone, but in the words of my friend "it's a nice way to elevate even yoga pants." That girl. She knows how to sell me. I haven't tried it with my yoga pants. Will report back soon ;)

Now, let's flashback to last year's look here. Of course, it has my old circle purse when it was nice and pristine. I'm really hoping the circle bag trend stays around a couple more years because it's so cute! Anyone else obsessed with circle bags?

The Best Jumpsuit

cute date night outfit

faux leather jacket, ruffle black jumpsuit

jumpsuit (runs big) // jacket // heels

You know that magical feeling you get the second you put something on the very first time? It makes you stand taller, feel extra confident and ultimately feels like the best version of yourself. That's the feeling I got when I tried this jumpsuit on (my review here). While I knew it was going to be a piece I would get plenty of use out of, I didn't realize I would love it even more now than before. I mean let's be real-jumpsuits are hard to pee in and take some work. They're this weird mix of effortless and lots of effort. Oh, fashion! Only when you find a good fitting one, you know get that magical feeling, can you commit. Or is that just me?

For these pictures, I went fancy. If my hair is done and heels are on, I call that fancy. As you may know, I just came back from Tulum, and guess what jumpsuit saved the day? Yup, this one! I impulsively threw it in my carry on at the last second and so glad I did. It turned out to be the best outfit to travel home in. You can see here how I styled it.

Do you have any pieces you've picked up that continue to save the day?

What I Wore In Tulum

After 5 days in paradise, I'm back and ready to share everything (in bits). While I had every intention of sharing on Instagram my trip to Tulum, I was in for a reality check with the spotty WiFi. Other than stories, it just was not happening. So I guess you can say I got a bit of a phone detox. It was actually quite nice. Anyway, I'll be sharing more, but for now I'm starting with my outfits. All are snapshots from my phone because I quickly learned lugging a camera was not going to happen in the humidity.

DAY 1 // EXPLORING & EATING

Quickly realized what hot and humid meant, but it could have been I'm not used to the heat lately. It was all about breezy tanks (this one has become a favorite!) and shorts. Also, you will want a good hat. It's great for sun protection, but even better for bad hair days (as I learned).

DAY 2 // WELCOME DINNER

The main reason for our trip was for a friend's wedding (and I'm not complaining). For Friday evening, they planned a special dinner for all the guests. A fun flirty dress was in order, which would make for a great Wedding Guest dress as well. It was light and airy, but certainly will be worn throughout summer-that was the biggest criteria for purchasing this dress. And shoutout to these basic sandals because they go with everything and are so comfortable!

DAY 3 // REFUELING

If you been following me for sometime, you know I love me some matcha! When I was trying to figure out where we should go, I found Matcha Mama and there was no question I was going to try it. We didn't have much time, so I threw on an easy dress and rocking my new accessories-the bug repellent bands! You guys the mosquitoes were eating me up. I don't think they worked, but I was desperate and didn't take them off.

dress (old, similar) // sandals // hat // purse // sunglasses

DAY 4 // BEACH WEDDING

The wedding was absolutely amazing! The ceremony and reception were right on the beach. Honestly, I wasn't quite sure what to wear with the invite saying beach formal. I went with my trusty black dress I've owned for sometime. I could have worn any beachy dress, but this dress worked just as well.

DAY 5 // LAST DAY

Well we had a 4 pm flight, it takes 2 hours to get to Cancun Airport from Tulum, so we only had the morning to enjoy on our last day. At this point, I wanted something that would work for the heat and comfy to travel all day in. I had brought along this jumpsuit just in case and so glad I did. It was just right for what I needed. Plus, it has pockets and you need all the pockets when traveling.

Anyway, if you can't tell I made sure everything went with each other. I was successful and packed everything in my carry on. Have any of you visited Tulum?
