The Brand That Has Me Cheating on Madewell

universal thread top

Maybe I was living under a rock, but the second I stepped into Target a few weeks ago I had to stop and stare. We all know that's really easy to do there. Normally, I do that in the home section. This time it was for their new clothing line called Universal Thread. Um when did Madewell land a deal with Target? From bandanas to all the stripes, it's nailing the effortless, cool girl style Madewell is known for. The major difference here--the price! I did try on this and this tee, but fell in love with this mustard off-the-shoulder top. It's going to be perfect for my upcoming trip to Tulum. Guys, I just booked our tickets today and I'm SO excited! It's going to be our first time, so if anyone has any tips please share. But back to clothes. I definitely think Target did good with this line, especially if you're on a budget.

Now, let's flashback to last year's look here. Gosh! Look at how short my hair was! Maybe it's not that short, but in comparison to now it is. Should I chop it?

The Cold Shoulder

top (on sale; size up for length) // jeans // shoes // purse // hat // sunglasses

Happy Friday! Has anyone else felt like it should have been Friday by Wednesday? Yeah, me too! But I matcha, getting a couple of orders in the mail and working 2 days from home got me threw the week. You guys, I have to say I have a full blown obsession (maybe addiction. maybe) to Madewell! I stock their site like a crazy teenage girl crushing on her favorite boy band. I have a strategy and I've managed to get a good chunk of my clothes on sale from them. Seriously, their sales are not to walk away from. This top was a recent sale find and great for transitioning into Fall. It has the colors of Fall, but won't have you roasting because it's still 90 degrees outside. It's pretty much fully stocked in all sizes and under $40 for silk. There's even a dress version here and here

Now, let's flashback to last year's look here. Surprise! It's featuring my favorite store, again :) But I can say that I just wore this outfit this week. This top is heavy on the rotation this summer.

Thank you to everyone who links up with us! Let's just say Jessica and I are feeling ruffles. Our picks are Kristina from Kristina Does the Internets and Stefani from The Style Safari!

Floral Off-the-Shoulder Top + Linkup

floral top // jeans // purse // espadrilles (get 1/2 up) // hat (similar) // sunglasses (great dupes!)

Happy Friday everyone! I have to say I feel like I cheated to get here. My staycation ended Wednesday, so it's been a 2 day work week. Anyway, we headed up to Santa Barbara County with some good friends from Arizona. They love cooking (no complaints here) so we found this incredible luxury yurt that had the most unreal views and a nice kitchen. Let's just say I underestimated the weather being that high up. This summery top only saw the light of day on the drive up. Basically, I wore 10 percent of what I packed. I guess all my other cute summery outfits will have to wait a little. On the plus side, I have little laundry to do-LOL.

Now are you ready for my flashback look? Looks like not much as changed from year-to-year! Still loving blue and white AND off-the-shoulder tops! The best part is this color palette doesn't go out of style. That's something I try to keep in mind when I buy things now.

Thank you to everyone who linked up with us last week! We hope you join in again! Our picks are Joi from In My Joi and Brittany from Kingdom of Sequins!

Denim Girl + Linkup

top (sold out, almost identical) // skinny jeans // sandals (old, similar) // purse (obsessed!) // neck scarf

Denim. What can I say? Only that you are my BFF these days. Oh and you too off-the-shoulder! Can't forget you! I got this top (actually it's a dress that feels too short) several weeks back and it's been gloomy whenever I want to wear it. But it wasn't this past weekend. Thank you weather gods for making this outfit possible! And you guys I just can't stop wanting more denim pieces in my closet. I'm on the cusp of ordering this dress now that it's on sale. Yay or nay ladies?

Now let's flashback to last year's look here. Annnd funny enough I'm wearing the same jeans. I'm surprised by how well Old Navy jeans have lasted! But this top is one that's perfect for Summer and is from Ruche, which if you haven't heard has just reopened! It started by a woman just following her dream and glad to see she was able to reopen it!
Thanks for linking up with Jessica and I! Remember to linkup because it's better with you and we are featuring our two favorites each week! Yesss, you can be featured! We loved Kim from The Knotted Chain and Candace from The Beauty Beau!

May Favorites

 (view full post here)

It's crazy to think we are already at the last day of May! Don't get me wrong-I'm completely excited for Summer and more reasons to visit the beach. But time just seems like it's speeding by! May brought some warmer days and gave me a taste of Summer. Well except for a few days like the one above. In those cooler days, it still let me wear my favorite color combination-grey and blush. Something I'm sure I'll have to remember for those gloomy June days.

And heyyy bare shoulder season! This month allowed me to rekindle my love for off-the-shoulder tops when the temps were in the upper 70's and 80's.

(view full post here)

But by far, this dress was hands down favorite look! It still gives me all the feels! Don't be surprised if you see this pretty number in the month to come.

Hope you had a nice long weekend! Anyone do anything fun? We took a drive to Santa Barbara and wine country. Oh, and there was a significant amount of shopping.

Blush + Linkup

purse // perfume (Macaron Rose) // top

Okay, it's been one of those weeks (maybe two) where getting enough blog pictures is impossible. Things get canceled, cars have problems, and then there's more assignments handed to you at work-you know life. But it's teaching me that sometimes you just have to focus on what's going right and to be a little flexible. Speaking of good, these pretty blush pieces at least have me distracted in the time being. Oh, and I've been obsessed with that perfume for sometime. Besides smelling amazing, it's under $20 and the packaging is easy on the eyes.

Thanks you for linking up with Jessica and I each week! We love see all your style posts and drawing inspiration from you! Here's a look at my outfit from last year. Still love each of these pieces!
Psst...I'm headed to San Francisco on Saturday. I've been there many times, but would love to find new must eat places. So make sure to share! My stomach will thank you later:)

Knotted

Off the shoulder top (size PXS; worn backwards because I'm a fashion rebel) // jeans // neck scarf // purse // espadrilles // aviators

Let's talk trends for a sec.

I'm sure you've noticed the whole handkerchief scarf exploding.

Initially, I wasn't sure if it even made sense. Was it too western? Trying to be French? Can I even pull it off?

And I refrained. And refrained a little more.

But then I stumbled upon this mixed print scarf handky (does anyone know the fashion term?) and knew I had to try it. There was no signs of anything western with the print-it was my best shot!

Mind you it did sit in my closet a few weeks and you know what? After wearing it once, I haven't turned back. Okay, it's only been two times.

And one of those times was with Jessica for our blogger date. Clearly, she would understand my handky.

Off The Shoulder Tops + Linkup

Okay, so if I had taken pictures this past weekend you would have realized I'm obsessed with off the shoulder tops (really anything OTS). But if there's one style I'm glad to see be a huge hit again this year is this one! It's a little flirty and just puts me in the mood for Summer fun. I've found so many OTS tops that I'm ready to add to my closet on top of the one's I have and just bought (this and this). How many is too many? (don't answer that) Here's what's on my radar:

And can we just call this a two-fer? This look was a outfit from last year, so we technically can say it's a flashback, riight? Yessss! Make sure to link up below!
