From Shift to Top

Happy Tuesday! Hope you're week has started out with a bang! These are the last of my pictures from San Francisco and it might look pretty similar to my last outfit for very good reason-pure coldness! As I mentioned, I could not handle the cold chill and threw on these grey jeans in order to enjoy a day of sightseeing. Initially, I was going to change my whole outfit, but realized I could just tuck my shift dress into my jeans and turn it into a top. I love when pieces in your closet can do double duty! Now, I really need to remember to pack things that can work multiple ways for my getaway this weekend. We're headed to Arizona and I'm counting on not really needing layers and layers just pieces that can work several ways. I'm looking forward to some amazing food and even more amazing sunsets!

Black Frames

You guys I have a confession. These glasses are half real need and half pure accessorizing. My right eye has a really mild need for them to see far. Left eye is just accessorizing. So really I'm just a three eyes and pretending to be a four eyes. And I have to say I had a very hard time coming to terms with this whole I wear glasses now. I can't even tell you how long it took me to pick out my first pair, but picking out these black frames from Firmoo was the complete opposite! They have examples of the glasses on other people and you can submit your photo to see what they look like on you. I didn't do that, but saw them and boom ordered. I was really nervous after, but once they arrived I was beyond happy! They came in a nice case with a cleaning cloth, pouch, and screw tightener. Oh, and best part is everything is super affordable!

If you can't tell, these were from my trip to San Francisco. These were right outside of the Full House house's! I was so so cold. I know major eye rolls from any of you who has to deal with snow. Hands down to you! But the chill in the air led me to buy ear plugs which you can see in these pictures. It's really how I managed the entire trip. Clearly, I will not be visiting the snow anytime soon.

Layered in the City

Look who's baaack? Yup, this girl took a must needed girl's trip to San Francisco. And well that left little time to actually blog. Outfit pictures, though, were no problem. You know you have a really awesome friend when she'll take pictures of you even though she was hungry, cold, trying to sight see, or a combination of any of those. But after a 5 hour drive, unexpected delays with renting a car (yeah, I'm still not over it Enterprise), and not eating real food on the road, my friend still captured these for me. She might not ever agree to going on another trip with me-ha! We then stuffed our faces with tacos and a margarita. The last time we did a big trip it was to NYC and we had no idea what we were doing. We had a semi make shift plan, but nothing written in stone. So after eating, we had nothing. Then goood ol' Instagram came to the rescue! Shortly after posing this picture, my blogging friend Laura invited us out for drinks. Thanks for saving us from just crashing in our room!

Happy Hump day!

Double Plaid

So I realize this is repeating two of my current favorites from last week's post, but I'm not going to lie. I'll be the first one to raise my hand to say I'm guilty of repeats. When I love something, I will wear it over and over and over. So naturally I have to come up with as many ways to wear my favorites. The plaid sweater coat, a recent find from TJ Maxx, seemed like it was not only made for a rainy day but for another plaid shirt. Mixing a larger plaid with a smaller plaid in the same colors just gives new life to my plaid if you ask me. Okay, maybe it's another excuse to wear this plaid shirt.

Hope you had a nice weekend! Mine was really full of time with so many of my favorite people! I'll be sharing more later this week.

P.s. I'm really loving the size on this camo clutch! It fits notepads, small books, and all the essentials too!

Plaid and Camo

First things first. Going back to reality after the holidays is hard. Like really really hard. I was looking at the calender for the next holiday and that left me depressed (okay not really). I guess the next option is working up my vacation time. So far I've got two whole days! This also goes hand in hand with my urge to travel more this year. I've got my eye on a quick trip to San Francisco, New York, and Costa Rica. But if anyone invites me any where I'm pretty open. Have passport will travel is my motto.

Second thing now. Since it's a new year and all, it's time to change up my current wardrobe habits. Yup the old me would have added my moto jacket to this look. Instead, I swapped it for this camo clutch (currently out of stock but will be back soon #workperks). And because I get addicted to things really quickly now I want this printed clutch. But since I plan on traveling more I should snatch up this weekender bag, riight?

Hope you're off to a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

Bundled in Plaid

Well I guess you can say I took a little break from the blog, but totally unintentional. From last minute shopping to celebrating Christmas all while working full time, something had to give. And really it's such a special time of year that should be spent offline. But I was able to snap this outfit on Christmas using my new 40 mm lens that the boyfriend gave me. Thank goodness he's more into researching things than I am because who knows when I actually would upgrade! It's a nice switch from the 50 mm, but I'll make sure to report back about it. Now, let's talk about this plaid coat. This has been the apple of my eye for weeks and weeks. But I resisted and resisted and then that magic four letter word that every woman loves to hear happened-SALE! A few clicks later and it was mine. The coat and I have been pretty inseparable for the past few days, which I'm totally okay with.

How was your holiday? Any plans for New Year's?

Black and Plaid

You know what happens when you have a crazy hair day? You put a hat on it. Truth is I attempted to curl my hair a new way and I got big knotted curls. So much for soft natural curls. I don't know what went wrong. But I tossed a hat on and headed to the Ruche sample sale with a couple of friends. My friend suggested going and driving so clearly that was a heck yes! Turns out it's far. Like really really far. It was one of those moments where you ask 'Are we there yet?' But but it was pretty worth it. After getting there to be greeted by this massive line, my friend starts chatting about everything is $7. I had no clue. How the heck did I miss that detail?! Then one of the Ruche employee's comes by to say hello and recognized me. Oh yeah I have a blog. Seriously, I was blushing and the whole bad hair day. Top it all off she introduces me to the founder who is super sweet and humble. I was a fan of the company before but completely solidified my support for the future.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

Craving Lately: Black and White Plaid

Maybe I should really be calling this my Christmas wishlist because I want one of each of these black and white plaid picks! And well it is the holiday season. With my recent love for black and white, it only seems natural to want it in plaid from. I've been a fan of plaid for sometime. Originally, I saw that amazing coat and have been stocking it every.single.day. But seriously they are all so so good! It's a toss and go look fabulous. Anyone else loving black and white plaid?

Oh California, you're so funny! One week it's blazing hot. Next week it's gloomy and chilly. But you know what? I love this chance to layer up without looking foolish. And you know, I've really missed this plaid flannel. So thanks for the cooler weather!

Happy Memorial! Hope you are enjoying the day off!

Casually Me

If I could sum up my style in one outfit, this would be it. Plaid, grey tee, leather, and a little bling and I'm ready to go. Oh and my favorite flats that have my full endorsement if you can't tell by now. The best part is when the bf is totally a fan of it too. I'm thinking I should just make this my permanent uniform....okay that's probably is taking it too far.

Thanks so much for reading! Have an awesome day! xo
