Layering For Warmth + Linkup

The past few weeks LA has been hit with so many days of rain and a few sunshine days in between. Those in between days can be really cold (or at least I think), but I'm past that point of wanting to wear my coat for the millionth time. That's where layers come in. Finding new ways to layer and still look good. The formula=long sleeve, button down, and cardigan (and scarf). It's that plaid button down that really gives that extra layer of warmth. What are some creative ways you layer up?

Let's flashback to last year's look. I will say this definitely are pieces I still wear (last seen here). That poncho is still available and on major sale. You can't beat the fact that it's reversible, too.

Well I guess you can say I took a little break from the blog, but totally unintentional. From last minute shopping to celebrating Christmas all while working full time, something had to give. And really it's such a special time of year that should be spent offline. But I was able to snap this outfit on Christmas using my new 40 mm lens that the boyfriend gave me. Thank goodness he's more into researching things than I am because who knows when I actually would upgrade! It's a nice switch from the 50 mm, but I'll make sure to report back about it. Now, let's talk about this plaid coat. This has been the apple of my eye for weeks and weeks. But I resisted and resisted and then that magic four letter word that every woman loves to hear happened-SALE! A few clicks later and it was mine. The coat and I have been pretty inseparable for the past few days, which I'm totally okay with.

Skirt Punch

Yesterday was my day off and I'm not gonna lie- I was really excited to have a mid-week break. So the first thing I did was get dressed and not just get dressed, but get dressed like I had some where to go. A girl can pretend. This skirt has been sitting there waiting to be worn. So it just felt like the perfect day to wear it. I mean if not now then when, right? But it turns out I did ended up having a great day being overdressed with my favorite guy. I'm soaking up all the free time he has. Come Monday, he starts his new job and dates will have to wait till the weekend. Alright, so now I to tell my brain it's Thursday and yesterday was not Saturday.
