Only the Essentials + Linkup

Jacket (i live in it!) // linen tee c/c Garnet Hill // Jeans // Espadrilles // Hat (similar and have it!)

Happy Friday! I definitely had to fight my way through the week to get here (hello stomach bug or migraine. maybe both?), but I made it! Better yet I officially am not going to work till next Thursday. I'll be spending a lot in Santa Barbara and wine country in two separate trips. One is totally last minute, which truly get's me so excited. Either way, you can see it on my Insta Stories

But no matter where I go, work or wine tasting, I'm all about being comfortable and that tends to be in easy basics. Lucky for me, this weekend casual look, is office appropriate. One thing I feel like I have a hard time finding are tees. They're so simple, but finding one's you wear on repeat is not an easy task. It's rare for me to want a fitted piece and that's no different with tees. When this linen tee arrived, it was everything I look for. It's a little oversized, but not too much. It has a nice weight, so that it hangs just right. Even though it's linen blend, it doesn't wrinkle which is a huge plus.

But now let's flashback to last year's look (or close to it)! Blush and grey is another great mix of neutrals. To me it will always feel like the best Spring neutral color combination.

Thank you to everyone who linked up! We hope you will continue to linkup this week! Our picks are Tif from Bright on a Budget and Chichi from The Style Tune!

Dark Shades + Linkup

jacket // top c/o garnet hill // jeans // booties (on sale; go up 1/2 size) // hat // purse

FRIDAY!!! I seriously could hug today. Why? Because I survived a very hungry week of doing a juice cleanse. And now I'm just thinking what should I eat first. Should I make up for national pizza day yesterday? Should I go get a whole bunch of my favorite donuts? Or should I be responsible by keeping things healthy? By the way, this juice cleanse had mini meals. Otherwise, I know I couldn't commit. Anyone else done a juice cleanse?

Okay, for the sake of flashback friday, I will talk about clothes. This was my look last year and was when I found out I would be starting a new job (my current job). But even if I wore this now, you wouldn't know. Basics all together just never go out of style!

Thank you for linking us with us! We always have a hard time picking who to spotlight, but this week it's Bogi from Hampton Roads Fashion and Style and Lee from LegaLee Blonde

Easy Bedroom Upgrades + Linkup

bedcover & shams c/o // sheets (gift from my sister) // succulent (shh! it's fake)
Fun fact: Back in high school, I was convinced I was meant to be an interior designer. After watching hours of that makeover show with Ty Pennington (I'm terrible with names) on TLC, I was sure it was my calling. Clearly, that didn't happen and then realized fashion is my thing. But that doesn't mean I don't like a good looking room. There definitely some home changes in the works, which is all I can say for right now. But one way to get my fix for decorating is with new bed linens. Truly, the bed takes the stage in a bedroom. At least, it does for me. Some new sheets and bedspread is all it takes to upgrade a bedroom to give it new life (kinda like a new dress).

Call me crazy, but I think this little makeover has been sparked by my closet. My preferences for neutrals is taking over. Just like textures for your clothes make such an impact, it does the same for any room. The texture on the bed cover and shams give it a little extra special something and makes my neutral loving heart skip a beat or two.

Today, I'm also cohosting Rachel over at Garay Treasures. Make sure to linkup!

Summer Gem + Linkup

At the end the of the day, I will forever be a California girl. And as we get closer and closer to those extra toasty days, my craving to explore more of this great state heightens. The best way to see things is a road trip of course. One of my favorite drives is up the coast to Santa Barbara and wine country. But the more and more we (boyfriend and I) visit the more we are eager to find those hidden gems. We ended up stopping by La Purisima Mission in Lompoc.  Even thought it should be a little warmer, it's still cool (okay cold if you're me) and gives me the opportunity to bring some layers-my moto jacket and cozy scarf. This neutral scarf is from Garnet Hill and super soft. The kind you want to wrap yourself in on a long drive or even a plane ride. It's definitely a splurge, but the quality and neutral colors make it a staple (one this cold girl will wear all year long). Do you have any special activities you do during the Summer months?

Let's flashback to last year's look here. If there's one thing I don't regret buying, it's those white jeans. And how can I get those locks to look that great everyday?

Double Denim + Linkup

I think I might say this evvvery Friday, but it's F R I D A Y! It's been rough transitioning into this new job, well the balancing part. And everytime I think I've got it down turns out I don't. #ProjectLife Oh, and daylight's saving has still got me off. Is that just me? But I was able to squeeze in a haircut and color. Annnd I'm trying to prep for my Costa Rica trip coming in less than 2 weeks. It just hit me as I typed that sentence. 2 weeks! And when I say prepping I mean picking up my passport tomorrow from the Passport Agency because I barely renewed it. FYI your passport actually expires 6 months before the date it shows on your passport. Go read that sentence again and then go check your passport. You don't want to be the lady I met who should have been in Paris instead of trying to renew her passport and board her plane the same day.

Let's flashback to last year's look here. Actually, you might remember it from last week's. Opps! I used the wrong one, soo...yeah I'm a little off.
Thanks for linking up! We hope you'll join in this week!

Summer Essentials

Just give me the ocean and sand and I'm one happy girl! If there's one thing I love most about Summer it's the beach. Okay, it's no secret, but I love the beach anytime of the year. It's just now I can bring out all the things that scream Summer at the beach like a cute swimsuit and not freeze. This two piece swimsuit from Garnet Hill is one of two I picked up this season. The blue paisley print is something I know that I can easily wear year after year and not feel like it's gone out of style.Best part is that it's SPF 50! Since this was only our first trip to the beach this Summer, I resorted to some of my essentials like a button down shirt to use as a cover up, my favorite sunglasses, my trusty Panama hat, and you can't forget a good pair of sandals. I'm hoping to pick up this two person towel (oops we did forget a towel) and a picnic basket for our next beach trip to Santa Barbara this weekend.

Are you looking forward to beach trips this Summer?

Signaturely Boho

Is signaturely a word? Probably not, but for the sake of this title let's pretend it is. Mmkay? Because I started to realize that just like my last outfit post this is another boho look I wore for brunch and I wear this style of braids almost on the daily. Then it dawned on me after Garnet Hill asked me to share my signature style and this hits it right on the nail-casual, boho, and a touch of glam. Now it's your turn! Share your signature style using #GHSignatureStyle on your social channels for a chance to win Garnet Hill's Signature monogrammed towels. Winner will be selected at random.

So tell me what's your signaturely you style?
