What I Wish I was Wearing

It really is sweater weather in LA and it has me dreaming up fall looks. While I already have this jean skirt (styled here) and love, I'm trying to keep wearing it as temps drop. Maybe it's an excuse to finally take the plunge and pick up those otk boots that I basically cannot stop thinking about.

Black and Cognac

No matter how many times I try to stay away, I just can't. I cannot. Nope. My will power is just no match for Forever 21. Seriously, these sandals are pinch me good. They basically are the best knock off of last year's Vince espadrilles, which I have in black and were sold out in cognac. So you bet I snatched these up asap! They literally go with everything and are so so so comfortable! And like I said I can't resist Forever, so I picked up this embroidered shift because I knew it would be perfect with the sandals.

Hope you had a nice weekend!

Boho Brunching

Happy Wednesday ladies! I'm finally back after a quick trip to the desert and I have to say vacations are exhausting. Maybe it was the hour time change. Maybe it was eating at too many of our favorite spots. Either way it was nice to change up the pace. Phoenix has a more relaxed pace of life, which is so different from LA. Even though I tried to resist shopping for this trip, I somehow found myself at the mall and next thing you know this boho printed dress came home with me. Don't you hate when that happens? Though, it was perfect for Sunday brunch. It's not available online but I'm sure you can find it at your local Forever 21. Let's just say it's a great looking dress that will easily forgive that big plate of eggs benedict and cinnamon roll you might have had.

Hope you had a nice long weekend!

Casual Black and White

Sometimes you have one of the most memorable weekends and totally realize how memorable it is after it's over. But it's definitely a feeling of complete thankfulness that it happened. The first of my girlfriends is getting married in two weeks, so we had to have a girl's weekend (aka bridesmaid bootcamp). Yes, I'm one of her bridesmaids and so darn excited to be a bridesmaid! So we headed down near San Diego and stayed in a house through Air BNB. From hiking to wine tasting, we did it all and have so much to laugh about. There really isn't anything better than great girlfriends!

On another note, I've had this tribal print top since last year and has been a go-to! Not sure why it never made it on the blog, but it's available again this season and I'm thinking I should get the black version too!

Hope you had a nice weekend! xo

How to Shop at Forever 21

how to shop at forever 21

I'm not going to lie here, but I've done plenty of research over the years for this post. I'm talking hours and hours. Okay, I'm just an avid and very enthusiastic Forever 21 shopper. But I really do think there's a strategy to it. I know it can be overwhelming with these massive overflowing stores and pop music blasting, which honestly I can't help but love! And without these 3 tips I'm like a kid in a candy store.
3 tips to shopping at Forever 21
1. Pre-shop online: Can we just say this is a game changer?! It totally is. Everything is neatly on your screen and cuts down on the overwhelm when you physically shop. A lot of times I start by looking online before I step inside the actual store. You get a sense of most of the items available and helps you get a game plan of things to keep on eye out for.

2. Have a game plan: If you do browse online, it definitely makes your shopping game plan much easier. The place is amazing for having tons of trendy items and just about everything in between, which I get can be overwhelming. Exactly why you should know why you are stepping into that music cranking overflowing store. If it's the latest trendy pair of pants in orange, than you can easily filter through like a champ!

3. Go at the right time: Like I said I've done my research for this. I've gone at all the hours of the day-well all hours the mall is open. But you know that saying the early bird gets the worm? It definitely makes sense when shopping at Forever 21. Everything is clean, neatly organized, and employees are usually the most helpful. Plus, you usually have the place pretty much to yourself.

Hope these tips help make navigating Forever 21 easier and fun!

how to style closet basics
Well I have to say things have been going really well over here and I'm so grateful for it. To be honest, life isn't always one big party, and things for some time have felt a little foggy and unsure. But all of a sudden that fog has been lifted and it just feels sooo dang good. Sometimes it's just taking that crazy scary leap to get some clarity. Let's just say there's been lots of leaping and the pieces are coming together. I know I'll share more soon. But for those of you who are in that fog know that you are worth taking that leap.

Okay, now fashion talk. I've been getting some use, if you haven't been able to tell, out of these open toe booties. I turned to some of my basics and love the look of combing all neutral pieces. It's also a win-win when you think you have nothing to wear in your closet (that's a note to self).

Happy Monday! Let's do this!

Craving Lately: Tribal Skirts

1, 2, 3
Call it Spring fever but all I want to do is bare my legs in one of these tribal statement skirts! Perfect timing since LA is now pouring with much needed rain. While my bare legs can wait, this girl is just going to start planning outfits in the meantime. Since the skirt is the star of the outfit, a simple tee or trusty chambray will always pair well. I've really been eyeing number 2. Spot a fave?

Hope you're enjoying your week!

Neutral Ground

Have you ever been in line at the mall and it's sooo looong that you keep eyeing the things nearby but don't want to get out of line? But those shoes over there. That shirt over there. Oh! No, just stay.in.line. Well that's exactly how these shoes came to be. I was in line with my flats from yesterday and they were those shoes tempting me to get out of line. Basically, I did the line twice and I'm confirming that I love shoes. And for those of you high heeled challenged, these are actually doable. Perhaps it's the chunky heel.

Thanks so much for reading! xo
